So, I was wondering what are the advantages of playing with a slower tempo, seeing that it is almost always better to have a faster game.

Ofc everybody wants everything fast, nice and done, but don't forget that passing accuracy tend to be a little worst, because players need to have good 1st touch. Also, it keeps the ball more time in your team, getting some possession, and doing things better.

It improves pass accuracy, helps your team control possession and stops your players from getting into situations where they have no option to shoot when they are never going to score. I play with a slow tempo, and am having great success.

In real life, arguably the 2 best teams (Brazil in their 'hayday' and Spain/Barcelona now!) ever played with a slow tempo game.
