John Terry believes England"can make history" after they were handed a favourable group in the World Cup draw.
England have been pitted against the USA, Algeria and Slovenia in Group C in next year's competition in South Africa with England heavy favourites to progress to the knockout stage.
Three Lions coach Fabio Capello has warned his players not to be complacent, something echoed by his captain, but Terry was also relieved to have missed some of the bigger names they could have drawn.
"We can make history. We've missed the obvious big teams but everyone has earned their right to be there and we can't be complacent," Terry told The Sun.
"We didn't want to end up in a group of death - and when you look at the Germany and Brazil groups it could have been much worse."
