Hey guyz , i just have to share this crazy tactic .
First of all - this is NOT my tactic - it`s Mr Houghs 4-2-2-2 tweaked into a 4-1-2-2-1.
I tweaked the defence and the mid`s , didn`t touch the attack , because i think it`s fabulous in attack , leaving only one ST , and dropped the other one in the DM position because i didn`t like how the AI was exploiting the gap between the defence and the midfield and the results are amazing , finishing second in my first season with WBA and winning League Cup beating Man U in the Final .

Player Requirements:

Keeper : Decent Keeper

Fullbacks : Tackling - Positioning - Marking - Anticipation - Pace


Centre Backs : Tackling - Heading - Positioning - Pace - Anticipation - Marking


Defensive and Central Mids : Tackling - Marking - Passing - Work Rate - Team Work - Strength - Determination


Wingers : Dribbling - Flair - Agility - Technique - Pace - Finishing - Creativity


Targetman : Finishing - Composure - Technique - Decisions - First Touch - Off The Ball - Pace

Pitch Size - Minimum
Opposition Instructions - I Don`t Use Any
Team Talks - That`s Up To You

P.S. Set the lone ST as TARGETMAN , that`s the only thing you need to do , and give it a few games , the results will come .

This looks good mate, will try it as I'm a massive fan of 4-5-1. But when you say play striker as a target man what do you mean? Tick the target man option, or click the lone striker (in your case ishmael miller) and change his settings to a target man?

The tactic is set to play upfront for the target man , all crosses and pass are set for the targetman , don`t change his settings , just go to tactic menu , under playmakers is Targetman , click that and than drag your ST into that window , just take a look what happent in my last game , playing Wigan against Man U , with Boselli Targetman :

He just killed United , because that player is the most important in this tactic , all balls are set to go to him , you`ll nedd one tall and strong player there

Ill give it a go when the new season in my save comes round mate, Ive found my 4-1-1-2-2 has been found out by the AI :(
 
looks great im about 2 start a new save, might go wiv blackpool an giv it a try
 
Just a quick update to my WIGAN save , looks like it`s working very good with another poor team , after 13 games i`m 4th place in EPL :

My only problem with this save is that the CDs are really really poor players ,conceding half of the goals in 2 games , against Chelsea and Hotspurs due to red cards

couldn't win a game to save myself with my Blackpool team, switched to this tactic and went 2-0 up against Man Utd, but typically, FM make them come back and i lose 4-2, still a good tactic, seen an improvement in my team

If you want , i could post for ya a more offensive version of this tactic , but that`s only for top teams , you`ll need fast .. i mean FAST PLAYERS all over . This version i posted is more balanced , and works perfect for mid and low table teams if you`ll give it some time
 
every game i've played, i've threw away the lead and went on to lose the game using this, sometimes even when i'm 2-0 up, any ideas how to stop this?

Sometimes , when i`m playin` against big guns , if i`m on top , in the final 20-25 min`s i`m switching my teams mentality to normal ... this works most of the time , but as i said ... in match prep i`m on fluid
 
is it inside forwards?, so right foot left, and vise versa?
