THE ANCHOR (SALT&PEPPER)
won everything with boro (inc champ league) 16/17 season

png.gif

pre-warning - the intro is very long and the reults and match stats
are about 2/3 of theway through, if you have time read it all as
this is for the time I have put in to creating this monster!!!!!

Hi guys, ive been working on this tactic for about 3 months (tweaking)
and playing with it for just this season, the previous years of this
save had variants of this shape without the same effect and tweaks
had the finished produce 3/4 of the way through the last season.
the season you see as the 'test' is my boro save in 2016 after
finishing 3rd in prem in first year
OH YES ITS COMPLETELY PLUG AND PLAY!!!!!!!!!

rationale for the name:
the tactic is called THE ANCHOR because it looks like an anchor
and is appropriate due to the tactic goes in three distinct waves
SALT on the other hand is for some of the salty things the
that the team can do like a conrer set up which gets the AF
another 10-15 goals per season and simple open net tap-ins from
working the ball in arsenal style

the PEPPER is for what i like to call the PEPPER phase, this consists
of the IFs SS and AF trying to work space on the 18yrd line whilst
the midfeild and defence rotate the ball to find one of them,
this works beautifully and everybody loves seeing the commentary
say something along the lines of "what a lovely team goal" or
my favourite is "now that is football"

the tactic
based off of a 32131 system used by doctorbenjyFM on youtube however
i found the shape to be lacking defensive width therefore i went
with 3 at the back and 3 in the middle with the attack staying similar
in shape, this however is where the similarities end
everything from the sweeper keeper to the advanced forward, the team
retains its shape and is always looking for an open player including
the CBs who will step out of D-line to keep pressure up.

the central midfield support width providing an option if the IF gets
stranded, and all work very hard to keep the ball and find the front
four once in the PEPPER position.

the IFs and the SS run at their man and into space to create havoc
and pockets of space for the AF to move into or any of the other
attacking 3 players depending where the ball is on the pitch

the AF is there to hold the ball up in the channels on the counter
and release a ball to an onrushing player, and once in the PEPPER
position, the AF will become a 'fox in the box' looking for the
through ball or the end of a delivery.

corners - the conrer set up i have should have only the wide CBs
(RCB/LCB) to make sure the setup works, once the IF recieved the ball
they will mainly pass to an unmarked AF to power home or if the
defence is set up in a way tomark the AF, this will leave space for
the IF to drift in and power home himself, its a WINWIN!!!!

team instructions
i know this may seem like alot, however this is how i like the team
to play, with a couple of contradictions which make the the tactic
unplayable, for example: retaining possession and pass into space,
retaining the ball with make the CMs and CBs more composed and wait
to play the pass forward, however if a killer ball is on for a CB
over the top between apposing FB and CB, he will attempt the pass
on occasion leading to serious OP counter

png.gif

'PEPPER PHASE'
this is to show how effective the tactic is at creating chances in
the right area all of the time with 25+shots all in or around the
18 yrd area. long shots only come into play if the opposition set
very deep and are playing defensive and even then rebounds are so
OP on this years game

results
prem home games:
dominated 90% of games here won all of them and even the close
scoreline games were significantly within our favour

png.gif

prem away games:
as you would expect a couple of losses to big teams stats still
in our favour for these you know how FM works the draws were high
scoring and generally from the opposition overloading to chase a goal

png.gif

domestic cups:
won both cups and community shield on pens, really impressive results
like 5-1 against man utd

png.gif

europe:
won the supercup from winning the europa league in first year in prem
and won chamions league facing real, barca and arsenal on the way.

png.gif

match stats:
here are the match stats from both big sides (top 4) and mid-table and
relegation teams to highlight the strength of the tactic against
all types of opponents from defensive to attacking the tactic works
wonders

honourable mention match stat:
vs liverpool in cap one cup semi 2nd leg
what to say about this game, we had the edge in the game but they
memphis depay!!!! everytime he got the ball he would create something
whether set up or score or do that annoying thing where he will have
a poor shot and commentary say "that would have been some goal"

my players and best attributes to look for:
the list for best attributes should all be over 15
GK - he is young and good enough to stop a ball, nothing flashy
attr: reflexes, one on ones, handling, positioning, agility, balance

RCB/LCB - average height for CB quicker than average, better on the
ground than in the air.
attr: tackling, marking, acceleration, positioning, decisions,
concentration, composure and passing are a bonus

png.gif

CB - monster in the air, strong, tall in both 6 yrd boxes will
win everything if needed
attr: tackling, marking, jumping, heading not needed as long as they
win the ball, strength, concentration and decisions. acceleration and
passing are a bonus here

png.gif

DLP - he pulls all of the strings, nothing fancy with regards to
assists or goals but is always available for a short give and go
or to spread the ball back to the CBs or opposite wing to switch it
up.
attr: stamina, work rate, passing, tackling, first touch, solid
mentals and physicals across the board

png.gif

BBM - the work horse on either side (the piston of the engine) if you
will, going wide to support attack and defensive, or sloting in
the CB slot if CB is dragged wide, simple passing more offensive
passes than the DLP due to sitting further forward
attr: stamina, work rate, off the ball, passing, first touch, again
good physicals and mentals across the board

png.gif

IF - (opposite foot) the flair demons, will run at the D generally
will play the one-two back into the midfield which then will be in
prime PEPPER terretory, will move up to make a front 4 and will sit
in the pocket between FB and CB
attr: FLAIR!!! acceleration, dribling, first touch, off the ball,
passing. finishing, composure and long shots will be a bonus

png.gif

SS - essentially similar attributes as messi and play style, this
guy will link the mid to attack then once the ball is within the
PEPPER phase he will attack the space left from the movement of the
AF looking for a through ball.
attr: off the ball, passing, dribling, finishing first touch and
composure. long shots and accelration are a bonus here

png.gif

AF - leads the line, strong, quick poachers instinct, good in the
air and at his feet, this guy can berun in many diff ways, dont
change the role but a had success with this guy and the guy who
is the SS as more of a poacher. personal preferance really
attr: acceleration, off the ball, anticipation, composure, finishing
first touch, strenght and jumping

png.gif

final notes:
1. i dont bother with any opposition instructions

(the players have their roles for each area of the pitch (waves)

2. also didnt bother with any PPMs as this is plug and play dammit!!!

3. subs wise i never have a keeper on the bench, method i use is
1 CB, 2 CM, 2 IF, 1 SS and 1 AF. if need be, swap SS for 3rd CM for
cover. make 2 subs at 60 either fitness or influence based and make
last sub at 80 just for fitness

4. if winning by small margin at 70+ mins you can drop IF to WB(D)
keeping the players the same just for security, no running with the
ball but will still get a ball in the box or support midfield

5. i didnt do the last note due to proper testing rules

6. general traing should be for the role they are going to play so
DLP train as DLP, SS as SS and so on ...

7. finally i hope you have stuck with me through this marathon
a fantastic tactic deserves a epic write up, hope you all enjoyed the
read and i look forward to hearing your comments and feedback for the
tactic. last thing to mention is to ENJOY THE MONSTER THAT IS:

arrrrrrrrrrrgggggggg I really cant do posts on here
the tactic is amazing please give it a try. any questions fire away

if a moderator wants to clean this up for me it would be greatly appricieted, maybe link to a vid on how to upload would be helpful especially for beginners like me lol

Any tests in the depths of Vanarama Conference North/South?

hello there i remember Your tactics for fm 14 umbrella tiki taka pinball or something like that, i liked then so i will test this as well;)

trying it mid way through my undefeated Liverpool save - first game in the Europa league away to Bordeaux 30 minutes in 3 - 0 up. I was using TFF Armageddon because i rack up huge scores but the football doesn't always look the greatest but I end up with a Goal difference at the end of the season in the 100s. This tactic plays some exquisite football, and if the first 30 minutes is anything to go by its a winner! Will update once I'm a few more games in.

do you have a player filter to download. going to test it with liverpool from season1

hm. I think I read it all.

But I can't see training nowhere.

Can you please tell me your season training.

I will probably try it in second season cause I already started.

Looks like something that would be ripped apart in Vanarama Conference North/South. :/

I may give it a whirl there. :)

AMAZING

I registered on this forum just to post here. Worked very well with Man Utd. Monster tactic
