ARSENE WENGER RESIGNS

View attachment 294187
(Wenger lifting his fifth FA cup)

Arsene Wennger has today resigned from his role as Arsenal manager. Wenger decided not to renew his contract after 17 years in charge.

At a press conference today Wenger had this to say "I have had an incredible time at this great club. I would like to thank the fans and board for their support of me through the good and tough times that culminated in last seasons FA cup final victory. I just feel I have taken this club as far as I can and this is a perfect time to go out on a high and hand over the reins to a younger man with fresh ideas to take this club onto greater things."

Arsene Wenger won the Premier League in 1998,2002 and 2004 and the FA cup in 1998,2002,2003,2005 and 2014. The new manager will certainly have big shoes to fill.

Today Dennis Bergkamp has been announced as the new Arsenal manager following Arsene Wengers resignation last month. This will come as a shock to many as Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola were seen as frontrunners for the job and Bergkamp was seen as only having an outside chance. In a statement today arsenal said "We are proud to announce Dennis Bergkamp as our new manager on a one year deal. We all know Dennis from his playing days and we believe he can bring those same qualities that made him successful as a player into management. The fans also have an affinity towards Dennis and I know they will be right behind him! A press conference will be held tommorrow."

Bergkamp had a sucessfull 11 years at Arsenal winning three Premier League titles and four FA cups and I'm sure he's hoping to have the same success and longevity as a manager.

My Arsenal Story

View attachment 791469
This is my first story on here and I have decided to take control of Arsenal FC. I always believed Dennis would make a great manager once he retired because of the way he saw and read the game so I have decided to use him as the man to fulfil my goals which is to make Arsenal the dominant team in England for the first time since the 1930’s! Here are my season by season goals:
2014/15
Top three league finish
Win a domestic cup
Reach the quarter finals of the Champions League for the first time since 2010
2015/16
Top two finish for the first time since 2005
Win a domestic cup
Reach the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time since 2009
2016/17
Win the Premier League
Domestic cup less important to focus on the league
Europe less important to focus on the league
2017/18 and 2018/19
Over these two seasons I want to win the League, both domestic cups and Arsenal first Champions League!

These are my goals for this save and I hope to have you along for the journey! I also am going to set it to all the teams start with no transfer budget so I must use the squad Arsenal have in real life until next season. Seeing as this is my first story any suggestions on how to improve are welcome!
