First of all I'm new to this forum. I'm Kyle, 18 from Malta. I've read through a couple of stories and after reading some really interesting ones, I've decided to write my own. I would really appreciate if you gave me a chance since the is the first ever story I wrote.
Pretty much my story starts from the 2nd season with Nottingham Forest. I'll round up my 1st season in this post then I'll post updates regarding my 2nd season with Nottingham Forest. Also I was offered the West Ham job but declined.
With a top-half finish target, Nottingham Forest boss Kyle Civelli wasn't aiming for promotion but after some good signings on loan and other experienced players joining the team, Nottingham Forest were looking as if they were the team to beat.
After signing John Fleck, Barazite and Andy Carroll on loan and Wael Gomaa, Michael Ball and Samuel Kuffour on a free transfer, Nottingham Forest concluded their summer spendings with 1 mln in the bank which would be used in the January transfer market.
After a solid pre-season in which Nottingham Forest won all their matches excluding their 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford against United, Forest were looking brilliant.
After some brilliant matches beating the likes of Newcastle, Reading and knocking West Ham out of the FA Cup, Nottingham Forest found themselves lying 1st place by January. During the January market Nottingham Forest manager Kyle Civelli, bought Daniel Opare for €325k from Real Madrid and promoted Joe Garner from the reserves squad. Garner proved to be lethal by scoring some important goals.
After a string of 14 games without a win, Nottingham Forest ended their horrible string of results with a 1-0 win at Peterborough. With 6 games to go, Nottingham Forest were just ahead of Peterborough and Swansea and at the end it was Nottingham Forest who snatched the final playoff spot.
Having West Brom and Sheffield Utd already promoted, Nottingham Forest had to play Middlesborough at the Semi-Finals of the Playoffs. WIth a 1-0 decided by top scorer Dexter Blackstock's strike at the City Ground, Nottingham Forest were hoping for a good result away from home. Fortunately a late strike by Joe Garner gave Nottingham Forest a 3-3 draw against Middlesborough and therefore Nottingham Forest went through 4-3 on aggregate.
Later on Forest drew Reading and a 2-0 win at the Wembley Stadium sealed Nottingham Forest's faith in the English Premier League. Dexter Blackstock and Joe Garner again proved lethal in front of goal with goalkeeper Lee Camp dealing with various shots to keep Reading at bay.
- WHAT WILL FOREST DO WHEN DEALING WITH THE BIG GUNS?
