The board have taken over negotiation of offers for this player

I asked the board once, six months ago, to try to aquire a player. It fell through, as the parties were to far apart etc etc.

Now, when I try to bid for the player, I get the message that "the board have taken over negotiation of offers for this player" - and my hands are tied!

Is there any way to get rid of this?

It never happened to me. I never use Director of Football to buy players, since I think it does a very poor job and needs a lot of improving in the next editions of FM.

I don't think it's a bug, it's just how DOF works in FM16

Have you tried taking away the DOF's responsibilities from the Staff dub-screen?
