The corner tactic/cheat doesn't work at all for me. What's wrong?

I'm playing as Tottenham in my first season. I used to be a big CM player back in the day, but stopped when things started getting too technical (either 00-01 or 01-02 was my last CM game at a guess). Got back into things with FM 2011.

I read about the corner tactic (or cheat, depending on how you prefer to name it) & figured i'd give it a go to see if it works. Obviously i wouldn't carry out a full season like that as where would the fun be, but i wanted to see how effective it was.


So i have my best corner taker taking corners
Corners are set to the penalty box on right & left.

Now, most guides say send 2 men to challenge the GK. How on earth is this possible? You can only send one man!!

So i put my CB's in & about the GK. One of them challenging him, the other next to the first CB.

I have a winger at the near post for a flick & a winger standing at the far post

I have a couple midfielders attacking the near and far posts

Then i have my striker who has the best long range shooting, 1st time touch etc laying at the edge of the area.


The ball never ever makes it to this guy. The defending team always has a man on the edge of the box who gets to the ball before my lurker gets to it.

According to the guides, this shouldn't happen. So what am i doing wrong?

Nothing that tactic/cheat worked on FM 2010 & got exploited, hence why you can only place one person per position(corners) in FM 2011.

Yeah the Corner Cheat was an FM2010 thing. This year the cheat isn't gone but if you have decent headers and good corner takers you can get a solid amount of goals from corners

That'd make sense then. I found it totally by accident when googling some tips on how to play well in the game, so i looked into it some more & it kept getting advertised as FM 2011 Corner Cheat or FM 2011 Corner Tactic/Exploit etc. Not 2010 & that's why i was trying it to see how it went.

Try sending your corners deep to the far post and have your strongest CB there i have had Mats Hummels score 8 goals in 15 games so far this season.

Try This:
1. Make Sure that your best Corner Taker takes the kick (Search for the best attributes in Corners and Crossing, by this order).
2. Put your best Two Headers (Search for the best attributes in Jumping and Heading) in "Attack Far Post" and "Stand on Far Post".
3. Your third best Header should be instructed to "Challenge Goalkeeper".
