Having had 1 season with Newcastle, 1 season with Barcelona and now 1 season with Chelsea I have noticed that smaller or unlikely teams are doing strange things.
I have seen Lyon win the Champions League beating Porto in the final and then beating Arsenal 6-1 in the Euro Super Cup. (Newcastle game)
In my save with my friend (me Barca he Real) Bordeaux won the European Cup beating my mates Real Madrid 3-1 in the final. That was after he beat them 5-0 and 3-1 in the group! He also knocked out AC Milan, Man Utd and myself to get Bordeaux in the final.
And finally having just finished the 1st season with Chelsea, Marseille won the European Cup beating Liverpool in the final and Paraguay came runners-up in the World Cup!
Is it just coincidence that the 1st 3 completed seasons I have done that French teams have won the Champions League or has anyone else had some unlikely winners in the 1st season?
