This is my last story of football manager 2010 ahead of the much anticipated 2011 version. i've decided to try something different. before you turn away no its not one of those joint i play as chairman someone as manager, but it takes to long so both parties give up stories, ok onto the story.
Premier League chairman are huge now days sometimes at some clubs more valuble than the manager. So i've decided to take up the role as a premier league chairman, hireing/firing managers/coaches/directors of footballs. i will also have to balance the books with loans and what not. Also i will be deciding whether or not to build a club/academy side or plough money in.
To make this somewhat 'skillfull' i have decided to go as Blackpool FC a very tough challenge, give a huge wage/transfer budget to stay up or build a club that if it goes down stays up.
There are certain rules that i will follow and explain here :
1. i must start with Blackpools balance (finances show below)
2. i can take out loans as big as i want (of course a 100m loan would just wreck the club)
3. if i want to sack a manager they must be paid off in full, no mutual concent.
4. i can sign upto two (gift) players for my manager per year. this could create friction or tension between me or him. The transfer fee will be the players value X2 so that i cant just buy someone like messi for £30m or something.
5. if i chose to sack the manager the replacment manager must be within reason at the time e.g. cant just get a sacked Benitez/Mourinho if im fighting for the play offs.
6. Not really a rule, but if it goes well i'd like to hire 'directors' who will have a vote on matters.

Blackpool have today confirmed that after the bankruptcy of Karl Oysten that the club has been sold to local business men Oliver Connolly. Connolly takes over a growing club after promotion via the play-offs to the premier league. Connolly is a wealthy man but it is not yet known how much money he will put into the club.

I rolled into the car park off the club knowing that the morning press would be beginng to ask questions, i stopped the car and rolled my window down for Sky Sports News.
'Will there be big changes at the club ollie?'
'The club already had a good stable structure, i dont think whole sale changes are needed but yes improvements to the playing side and the clubs inferstructure, but these improvments will not spring up overnight we need a good plan in place to take the club onto the next level.'
'is Ollys job safe?'
'I dont mean to be rude, but i find that laughable the man has just brought this club from no where to the promised land, there is no doubt in my mind that Olly is the man for this club.'
'Spoken about any transfer targets yet?'
'we havent yet, i intend to sit down with Olly this afternoon, i have already agreed a deal with a club. but its not signed and i await Olly's opinion on whether to go through with the deal. All i can say is its a big name and i know the people of blackpool would love it.'
i sped off into the club walked through the offices said hi to all the lads and girls outside the boardroom. I walked in and sat down at my chair. there was a sheet from my bank manager with the clubs balance and expected earnings ....... ******' **** i thought. the club had brought in some serious wedge. It was decision time, spend some cash to stay up or build the foundations of a quality club?
