WHY PLYMOUTH??
Plymouth Argyle are my local team as I am from near by Cornwall. It was the first team I went to a stadium to see, I was a season ticket holder for a couple of years when they were in The Championship which seems an age ago now though! The club has had a tough time of it since then suffering relegation's, financial issues etc but has stabilised the last couple of years and won Promotion back to League 1 in 2017 and made a late dash from nowhere for last season's Play-Off's but just missed out.

I hope to get Plymouth back to The Championship asap, the funds are tight compared to most of League 1 but the club does finally have a stable bank balance so long term finances shouldn't be too bad, Want to also try and keep as much as the real life squad around for the first 6 months/season if possible and build from there.

League 1 Plymouth are today on the look out for a new
manager after Derek Adams resigned today due to
personal issues.
Adams guided the Devon club to 7th place in League 1
last season missing the Play-Off spots by 3 points due to
a fabulous end of season run after struggling in the first half
of the season, Adams had been at the club since 2015.
Chairman Simon Hallett spoke to BBC following the shock
resignation of Adams.
'I have today unfortunately received and accepted the
resignation from Derek, It was a very heavy heart but
after all the hard work Derek has done for this club we must
respect his wishes for the future, everyone involved with
PAFC wishes Derek all the very best success for the future and
he will forever be a permanent member of The Green Army!
We hope to name his successor in the coming days.'

Plymouth Argyle have today promoted former youth product
and ex England Star from Youth Coach to First Team Manager.
Hoskinho has been coaching at his boyhood club since retiring
due to injuries in October 2015 although he did make a brief
return to playing for Plymouth in 2017.
'I am over the moon to be appointed manager of this fantastic club,
It has been a big aim of mine since retiring to get in to coaching and
management, I appreciate and look forward to this massive
opportunity the club has given me and I cannot wait to get started.'
When quizzed about the manner of his predecessor Hoskinho said
'Me & Derek have developed a close relationship ever since my return
to the club and I am gutted I wont see him at training every day but
everyone at the club understands and respects his reasoning and
wish him well and can't wait to catch up with him soon, When I retired
Derek was kind enough to let me join his staff and It was Derek who
considered me to play the 9 games at the end of 2017 to get us
through, I had too much respect for Derek to let him and this club
down, I know all the lads will miss him but hopefully I can follow on
his good work and keep improving this great club.'

WHO IS TOMASSO HOSKINHO??

Tomasso 'Ozzy' Jamés Hoskinho born in Truro Cornwall is an ex professional
football player and the current Manager of League One team Plymouth Argyle.
Born in Cornwall in 1990 to a English mother and Brazilian
father.
Hoskinho burst in to the world of Professional football at the age of 15 making
his debut for his local team Plymouth Argyle, Starting in a 3-1 home win over
Norwich on 23 September 2006.
Hoskinho moved to Manchester United for £9 million in January 2008 and
stayed at the club until January 2010, He won 1 European Cup, 2 Premier League

win 2 La Liga titles & 1 European Cup in Spain before leaving for Bayern Munich
after 18 months at Barcelona, Bayern paid £59 million for the versatile
Hoskinho's signature, he had a trophy filled time in Germany winning
2 European Cups & 3 Bundesliga Titles.
Barcelona brought Hoskinho back to Spain for £42 million, He won another
European Cup taking hi total to 5 European Cup wins but a long standing
hip injury had started to effect the utility man's play and on Doctor's
order's he retired from Professional football during Pre-Season July 2015.

GK
MATT MACEY- 1st choice on loan keeper from Arsenal, Pretty solid League 1 Keeper.
KYLE LETHEREN- Will be 2nd choice no more, may play Cooper over him though.
MIKE COOPER- Young GK, very decent, may try give some cup game time.
HARRY BURGOYNE- Injured for most of the season, so will be sent back to Wolves.

DR
JOE RILEY- Solid but not spectacular, will do though.
TAFARI MOORE- Former Arsenal man….. pretty average but games may improve him.
TOM PURRINGTON- Looks like a decent youngster who I will turn in to a RB.

DL
GARY SAWYER- Long standing Argyle man, good LB.
ASH SMITH-BROWN- Good signing from Man.City, can play Right & Left.

DC
RYAN EDWARDS- Really like the look of him, starter..
SCOTT WOOTON- Very good player for this level, looking solid at CB.
NIALL CANAVAN- Pretty Average but very good back up.
PETER GRANT- See above… just younger.
YANN SONGO’O- Versatile but not much use at anything, may try and sell.

MC
CONOR GRANT- Former Everton youngster, looks classy may turn in to a League 1 Pirlo.
STUART O’KEEFE- On Loan and a very good League 1 player.
ANTONI SARCEVIC- Decent player who can play all CM roles I like.
JAMIE NESS- Again can play a couple of roles and is handy.
DAVID FOX- CM/FM Legend and may anchor the midfield for 6 months until we can improve.
CAMERON SARGEANT- Good local youngster who may see some cup action.

LW & RW
GRAHAM CAREY- The best player at the club and one of the best in this league, Must Keep him, I plan to play him as a CAM or CM.
RUBEN LAMEIRAS- One of the better players, very good Inside Forward for this level.
JOEL GRANT- Decent experienced winger, more than capable at this level.
GREGG WYLDE- Experienced but not great, may ship out but will do as cover for the minute.
LIONEL AINSWORTH- Will look to sell, has no place in my plans.

ST
FREDDIE LADAPO- Has good physicals, but very average Technically, No idea how he will do, could be a good winger.
RYAN TAYLOR- Good solid Target man, isn’t going to score 20 goals a season but is solid.
CALLUM DYSON- Pretty average youngster, may loan out in January but not much future for him.

EXPECTATIONS

Obviously Initially stay in league 1, but I am looking to improve the club long term and get us back to The Championship, I need to build the team around Graham Carey.

I plan to make profit on any player i can within reason to then improve the team, initially only singing free and cheap players to use or keep and sell on fr profits to then use to improve the playing squad.

The club sold 3 players this summer on permanent deals, raising nearly
250k in transfer fees.

GARY SAWYER- Was my only real left back at the time and is a Argyle legend so was hard to sell him but 70K for somebody his age enabled me to bring in younger players with more potential.... (Sorry Gazza!)
YANN SONGO'O- He had played a bit in pre-season in CM, CB & RB and liked his versatility but out of nowhere Dundee bid 100k so I couldn't turn it down and saved me the headache of figuring out where he should play.
LIONEL AINSWORTH- Average transfer listed Winger, Mansfield offered me 35k but played hard ball, stupidly they budged and i got a really good sum for a complete back up player.

PRE-SEASON & TRANSFERS IN

Tactics

PRE-SEASON RESULTS

Pre-Season slowly improved although the quality of opposition wasn't always the best. My biggest issue is what to do with my best player Graham Carey as Lameiras is playing really well on the RW.

As you can see after raising a bit of money from player sales plus the 120k or so I was given for transfers I've saved it or put some in to the wage bill in order to attract a number of Loan or free transfers so good to make a nice profit on the window which will help us in future windows, Also Everton are now our Senior Affiliate.
