Final time this game I attempt a lower league adventure, I have been plagued on 2010 with crash dump errors but found an ultimate fix posted on this site, and managed to get a long term game on the go.
I'm not giving much detail just season summary, this is because I'm already 9 years in, because my pc is high spec, and I only have all england leagues active, the game is playing fast so seasonal updates can be made regular.

- I begin with Basingstoke, in the BSS, with no money, and some wage budget, decent wage budget for the division I'm in.

Season 1

Notable Signings - Lewis Chalmers (free) Jake Taylor (Loan from Reading) Jan Sebek (Loan From Chelsea)
League Position 10th Blue Square South
Cup Perfomance FA Trophy 2nd Round, FA Cup 1st Round
Top Goal Scorer - Jake Taylor 33 apps / 15 goals
Player of the Year Lewis Chalmers
Thoughts Huh, I noramlly go up in my first season with Basingstoke, I'm that use to going them, not this year, to many stupid games lost, only really picked up points up at home, something to be addressed. Robbie Watkins gets attention from Wallsall and is sold for 65k.

Season 2

Notable sigings - Jake Taylor (Free) , James Hurst (Free), Jan Sebek (Free),
League Position - 1st Champions of Blue Square South
Cup Perfomance - FA Trophy 1st Round, FA Cup 3rd Round
Top Goal Scorer - Lewis Chalmers 37 apps / 11 goals
Player of the Year - Lewis Chalmers
Thoughts - I won the league with 80 points, a low number of points to win the league, away record no better, but a 95% home record was enough for the title. Lewis Chalmers my DMC had the best season of his career, now at 25 heading for the BSP at his peak. Awesome FA cup perfomance, unfortunate to not meat a PL side, knocked out 4-1 by Bournemouth.
Goal Keeper Ross Kitteridge attracts Peterborough, and moves for 20k.

Season 3

Notable Signings Caleb Folan(free), Kevin Phillips(free), Mustpha Riga(Free), Fredic Veselli (Loan)
League Position - 2nd
Cup Performance - FA Trophy WINNER, FA Cup 3rd Round
Top Goal Scorer - Jake Taylor 38 apps / 24 goals
Player of the Year - Mustpha Riga
Thoughts - Well just look at the 3 high profile signings, and the awesome center back Veselli. Goals came from everywhere, Phillps got 19, Folan got 16, but Jake Taylor stole the season with 24 goals.
96 points in BSP but never won the league ??? beaten to by Champion Oxford, but I beat Oxford 3-1 in the final, successive promotions leads me to the football league.

Season 4

notable signings - Sergio Torres (Free) , Fredic Veselli (30k)
League Position 5th Coca Cola League 2
Cup Perfomance League Cup first Round, FA Cup 3rd Round, JPT Trophy WINNER
Top goal Scorer - Caleb Folan 44 apps / 28 goals
Player of the Year - Mustpha Riga
Thoughts - Because of Phillips, Folan and Riga, my team was already well equipped to handle League 2, a solid 5th place, but loosing to Oxford United in the play off semi final.
A JPT trophy win beating Tranmere 2-0 at wembley, a great season and surley doing wonders for the stature of the club

Season 5

notable Signings - James Henry (Free) , Ibramia Sonko (Free) , Jon Ostomobor (free) , Emanual Frimpong (Free) , Damien Plessis (75k)
League Position 1st Champions Of League 2
Cup Performance - League Cup 1st Round, FA Cup 5th Round, JPT Trophy WINNER
Top goal Scorer - Jake Taylor 39 apps / 23 goals
player of the Year - Caleb Folan
Thoughts - Squad was already strong for league, some very fortunate quality sigings in frimpong and Plessis make my center midfield unbeatable. I stormed the league having won the league with 6 games left. JPT trophy win beating Millwall in the final

Season 6

notable Signings - Jason Pearce (Free), Seb hines (Free) , Wayne Glesson (Free) , Jason Snodin (40k) Stephen Henderson (30 k)
League Position 5th In Coca Cola League 1
Cup Performance - Out at fist round of everything
Top goal Scorer - Jake Taylor 32 apps / 19 goals
Player of the Year - Jake Taylor
Thoughts There is not a big difference in League 1 or 2, it did not seem it to me, Mustpha Riga now getting really old was still a star player, Kevin Phillips is now my assistant manager, and Jake Taylor, only played 32 games due to injury still scored 19 league goals, a Basingstoke Legend by now. Knocked out Play off Semi final by Stockport.

Season 7

Notable Signings Jonny Tuffey (Free), Tobias Muller, Craig Duffy (Free) , Liam Young (Free)
League Position - 2nd Coca cola League 1
Cup Performance - Out at firsr ound of all
Top goal scorer - Lewis Young 36 apps / 19 goals
player of the Year - Wayne Green
Thoughts - An excellent season in the league, however folan showing is age, at 34 not the player he once was, but new siging Lewis Young has been effective up front with Legend Jake Taylor.
Clinched Automatic Promotion.

Season 8

Notable signings Mark head (80k), John Bentley (free), David Calyton (Free) A Corbett (Loan) Imre Nagy (90k)
League Position - 10th
Cup Performance - League Cup Second Round, FA cup 4th Round
Top goal scorer - Imre Nagy 42 apps / 18 goals
Player of the Year - Imre Nagy
Thoughts - Mustpha Riga now retied, and James Henry has left the club, Tobias Muller is the new hot right winger, having a great season suppling Nagy with Plenty of goals. We were Surprise Package this year with a comfortable league finish

ALL TIME Top Scorers For club -

Jake Taylor 261 apps / 139 Goals
Caleb folan 167 apps / 101 goals
Kevin Phillips 97 apps / 41 goals

I'm in season no, about 12 games and mid table, hopefully I'll keep this game going until the manager has to retire lol

Great to see your back mate, was an Avid follower of your FM09 Basingstoke story, shame you only took them to League 1 in that but you're amazing on this one, PL isn't far off, made some quality signings there as well.

im unlikely to go up this year, so its going to have taken more than 10 years to gain promotion to the PL

Nice going so far, I really enjoyed your older stories. Shame you just ran through so many season's in the one post though.

I no, I just didn't have the motivation do to the time I used to on the updates,

GREAT that your back mate :), great sucsess there, i normally get stuck in League 1
