How would you rate it? Ok, signing youngsters and watching them developing is amazing, but I think that having a couple of "old" players helps every squad a lot.

I'll give you a concrete example: most of you should know Boulahrouz, he's a former Dutch international. I've signed him in 2nd season just for tutoring purposes, but he ended up being one of the most important elements in the success of my team (much better than the overestimated Alvarez Balanta, who watched him from the bench many times). He also was fans' favourite player of the season.

Alvarez Balanta... overestimated? Premier League Team of the season twice in a row for my Chelsea side in 2014/15 and 2015/16. He's an absolute monster.

On topic, I usually have my oldest player being 25-30, that's the most experienced player I have. I guess it may help, I kept Lampard, Terry and Ash Cole around for tutoring and the occasional cup game. I find they perform in those, but I like playing younger guys in the league. John Terry essentially won me the Champs League in 2015 though.

I know that Balanta brought many success to the majority of FM players this year, but he is simply not playng well enough for me. Boulahrouz and Kara are my first choice as CB because of their much better performances.

Balanta is poor in my Chelsea save. JT and Doria are the perfect pair. On topic, i would never , and i really mean NEVER, play with a team that is entirely made up with youngsters. I do love to develop them, but you need your "old" guys too. For example i always pair up my defense like i said before with JT and Doria: experienced+young. Young+young tend to make a lot more errors.
