I have managed to achieve something with Sunderland that I thought I would never do, which is a completely unbeaten season. I went unbeaten for 63 games, winning 58 and drawing 5, including winning 33 games consecutively at one time. I won the Community Shield, League Cup, FA Cup, Premier League and Champions League. I beat Everton 7 - 1 in the FA Cup Final, and Real Madrid 7 - 1 on aggregate in the Champions League. My midfielder and two first choice forwards scored over 120 goals between them. In the league I scored 110 goals, had a plus 89 goal difference, and accumulated 106 points.

It took me 6 seasons to build Sunderland up from relegation candidates to an unbeatable team. I started out with a transfer budget of just over £5 million. I managed to adjust my budget to raise over £9 million, and signed attacking midfielder Juan Angel Albin from Getafe for £8.75m, and later midfielder Makoto Hasebe for 650K from Wolfsburg The first season saw Sunderland qualify for the Europa League, with Darren Bent scoring heavily. Crucially before the end of the season I agreed Bosman deals for Nicolas Burdisso (CB) from Inter Milan, Julian Belletti (RB) from Chelsea and Levan Mchedlidze (CF) from Empoli. Mchedlidze scored 29 goals and got 23 assists in his first season.

In the summer there were the following sales:

Kenwyne Jones £10m to Athletico Madrid
Teemu Tainio, Paolo Da Silva, Andy Reid, Ryan Noble, Nyron Nosworthy, Jean-Yves M’voto, and Jack Colback for a combined total of just over £10 million

With the money raised, I signed Jack Rodwell and Marouane Fellaini from Everton for a combined total for £38 million, and managed to pick-up left-back Maxwell from Barcelona for just over £4 million. My team was now:

Craig Gordon, Juliano Belletti, Michael Turner, Nicolas Burrdisso, Maxwell, Lorik Cana, Jack Rodwell, Marouane Fellaini, Juan Angel Albin, Levean Mchedlidze, Darren Bent

This team won the title by beating Manchester City on the final day of the season. I will briefly go over the ins and outs from each summer that lead to my unbeaten season
