Alan Shearer has been appointed as manager of Leeds United. Sky Sports news had an interview with Shearer minutes after signing the contract.​

I beleive i can be as successful as i can at this club, we are looking to finish this season as a new championship club, first we will make sure we can secure play off spots then after that,hopefully automatic promotion, and certanly a shot at the title.

Will you be signing anybody during the window to help improve your current squad?

I do not beleive this current squad needs improving but if am wrong them certanly a couple of loan signings will be done.

Farsley 1-5 Leeds United​

Alan Shearers first game in charge ended in victory although it was against a weaker team. Snodgrass got Leeds of to a flyer on 12 mins before Becchio made it 2-0 three mins later. Last seasons top goal scorer Beckford made it 3-0 after 21 mins. A brilliant over head kick from McSheffery on 24 mins made it 4-0, another McSheffery effort made it 5-0 and finished of the first half.​

Leeds United 2-0 Portsmouth​

Alan Shearers first home game in charge ended in victory over premierleague side Portsmouth. Beckford put leeds ahead on 52 minutes, Johnson doubled leeds lead on 87 minutes to send the leeds fans home happy.

Leeds united first defeat of the pre season came from a wondergoal from Korkmaz from the edge of the box. Leeds pressed for an equaliser, they thought they had it when the ball appeared the be across the line but neither referee nor linesman seen it.
