Sporting CP - The Lisbon Lions

Founded on 1 July 1906, Sporting is one of the "Big Three" clubs in Portugal that have never been relegated from Primeira Liga, along with rivals Benfica and Porto. Sporting are nicknamed Leões (Lions), for the symbol used in the middle of the club's crest, and Verde e Brancos (Green and Whites).

My main aim here with Sporting is to dominate the Primiera Liga and overcome Benficas most title hold at 37, Sporting currently hold 19.
My second aim is to be the most successful Portugese club with devleopment of Internationals. I love building from the bottom up with clubs and progressing the youth candidates through the system.
My 3rd aim is to break into Europe and overcome Benfica and Portos European titles, 2 each.

So we had a sucessful season overall, but we had too many draws in the legaue and allowed Benfica to clinch the tittle by 1 point!
Had a few players sold and brought in a few decent young talents and invested in the youth within. One very hot performing player is Rodrigo Ribeiro (not a re gen, real player). Will become a prolific Target Man in years to come.
Im also hoping our most expensive signing, Pedro form Flamnego in Jan 2023 can continue on from his amazing season in front of goal.
We need a little rebuild in the summer and trying to hold on to top talents such as Goncalves and Inacio is becmoming hard as they are attracting attention from England and Spain.

This year we managed to reclaim our Liga Portugal crown on the final day and topped the league by goal difference!
Along with the league we mamaged to keep our Aliance Cup.
We also managed to advance into the knockout rounds of UCL. Hopefully next seaosn we can advance a littler further into the last 16.
Was tough in parts this seaosn, we draw too many games at times and fixture congestion also plays a big part in poor results. Managed to keep hold of our key players di[spite interest from Premier League teams.
Very happy with the amount of youth talent that has come through and that I have recruited.
This is by far the best save I've ever done on FM!

This season was not successful at all! We lost points agaisnt 'easy teams' in the league allowing Benfica and Porto to make up ground ahead of us. Our home form is outstanding but I think we need new tactics for playing away as this here the league lead was lost.
We had an absolute shocker in Europe this season and missed out on domestic cups.
Recruited a good amount of youngsters through the academy and through transfers from Brazil. Also added a due of experience in midfield with Maycon and Marco Antonio.
Had to cash in on Pedro Goncalves as he wouldnt sign and new contract and it was due to expire this summer.
Next seaosn we need to build a better team cohesion back up to claim out tittles back!

This season was very successful!
Re claimed our Liga Portugal Bwin tittle along with the Taça de Portugal.
Unbeaten throughout the season and racking up MOTM 7 times!
Had abig change in tactics and took an attacking gamble whihc has paid off really well.
Got offered the Chelsea job prior to the season ending, accpeted it as fancied a change after a few years in Portugal.

So we already accepted the Chelsea job offer before the end of the 2026/2027 season. We made the switch from the Green Lions to the Blue Lions.
I started off by implementing my 3-4-3 tactics from Sporting, and also borught across my assistant manager, Roony B & Marcus Edwards.
After a few early games and a few more transfer in & out, I made the switch of tactics to a 4-2-3-1 to better suit the players i had and I foiund that with the 3-4-3 the team had lost their momentum and needed a tactic swap.
In the end it all paid off very well. When I took over they had finshed 8th in league the previous year and just managed to get in the UEFA conference league.
We mamaged to re claim the Premiership tittle and also scooping up the UEFA Conference.
We now get ready for the new season ahead, but first I applied and got accepted for the role of Hungary under 19s manager ready for the upcoming EURO under19 tournament!

We did it, back to back Premiership tittles! One more season of champions and the achivement for 3 consecutive tittles is done!
Had a very good dtart to the season but a big hiccup against Southampton. Managed to turn it back aorund quick and contimue racking up the points.
Also managed to have a very sucessful reign within the National sector taking Hungray U19 to European champions.
Bring on 2029-2030 season!

Achievement done finally. It went down to the last couple of weeks but we clinched it ahead of Arsenal.
We had a big mix up of the tactics this year and opted for a very attacking approach which paid off in the end.
Splash out in the transfers market with a whopping fee for Dusan Vlahovic. But this was tottlay worth it with the goals he gave us!
Looking for a change in management now and hoping to win the Champions League soon.

So we swapped London for sunny Monaco!
Didnt have the best of starts at all. The squad I had was CB heavy so I originally tried put 3-4-3 tactic variations. This proved to be a problem as we leaked a lot of goals from thorugh balls between CBs and from a lot of crosses and corners.
We got to January and I made a lot of changes with transfers and tactics. I bought in a few players including (again) Roony Bardghji, who I have now managed 3 times with ym 3 different clubs on this save lol. Had to cash in on my French wonderkid as his contract was coming to an end and he would renew.
Tactis changed to 4 at the back and into a 4-2-3-1 / 4-3-3 / 4-2-2-2 and this proved to be successful in the second part of the season, we picked up the Coupe De France on our journey. This year I was awful in Europe and didnt perfomr well ahgainst lower ranked teams in the league and fell short form a title challange. Also not done very well in picking up any personal manager awards this season.
Targets going forward form the board are to qualify for champions league & have the best youth system in France.

So we did it, sealed the Ligue 1 tittle with a game to spare! Knocked PSG off the reign.
Didnt do so well at all in the Champions League as we didnt even make ot through the qualifiers.But this actully turned out well as we won the Europa League agaisnt my old clib Chelsea in the final.
Broke into the hall of fame for continet region to. Im also dissapointed that Ligue 1 dont do personal managers awards.
Towards the end of the season we got offered interviews at Inter, Barcelona and back with our old club Chelsea. I tohught i would go for a change no matter what as I want the Champions League tittle in my cabinet so we went for Barcelona job and got it!.
Going into our journey with Barcelona, my aim is to reclaim the La Liga as Valencia are now the curently holders, win the Champions League and do this by only having Spanish nationals or players through the clubs youth system in my squad, this adds a bit more of a challage than just buying the best players.

So we are swapping the highs of Monte Carlo for paella!

So we didn't have the best starts in Barcelona.
Our aim with Barcelona is to win the La Liga & Champions League with only Spanish Nationals or players developed through La Masia.
So I managed to get rid of all the irrelevant players, some to the fans and boards dislike as they where very talented, but they dont fit into my plan.
This then lead me to spending a pretty hefty amount to bring in a fe top Spanish nationals and a couple for the future.
I stated the seaoson with a standard 4-3-3 formation and kept this pretty much all the wya through, played about 4 games in a 4-2-3-1 formation due to fitness fatigue on players in the 4-3-3.
First couple of early fixtures made the campaign ahead look promising, but then we picked up a couple of really bad results and it took us a while to get back on track.
Our end result in La Liga was not very done, too many draws and bad losses. We also had a very poor campaign in Europe, still no champions league cup for me yet! But managed to pick up the Copa Del Rey and Supa Copa Espania.

Players are begging to gel togther and there are a few top youth prospects making their way through Barca B! Not the best starts to Spanish life but the furture is looking promising

Finally did it! Champions League tittle in my locker.
Second season in Spain and so close getting a hold of the La Liga tittle, but sadly we had too many draws, we where undefeated throughout the league campaign too!.
Happy with the European tittle as we aslo won this sing only Spanish nationals and players recruited through youth system.
Next season target is to claim the La Liga tittle.
The World Cup is also this summer, so hopefully there may some a National team vacancy after the tournament.

Quest'anno siamo riusciti a riprenderci il titolo della Liga portoghese all'ultima giornata e siamo arrivati primi per differenza reti!
Insieme al campionato siamo riusciti a mantenere la nostra Alliance Cup.
Siamo anche riusciti ad avanzare agli ottavi di finale della UCL. Speriamo che la prossima stagione potremo avanzare un po' di più negli ottavi di finale.
È stata dura in alcune parti questa stagione, a volte abbiamo pareggiato troppe partite e anche la congestione degli incontri gioca un ruolo importante nei risultati scadenti. Siamo riusciti a tenere i nostri giocatori chiave nonostante l'interesse delle squadre della Premier League.
Sono molto soddisfatto della quantità di giovani talenti che sono emersi e che ho reclutato.
Questo è di gran lunga il miglior salvataggio che abbia mai fatto su FM!
