Roberto Mancini has stepped down from his post as manager of Manchester City. The forty-five year old former Inter Milan manager gave personal reasons for his resignation. The City Board have yet to decide on a replacement to the succesful Mancini.
Mancini, who was born in Italy has racked up quite the resume in his playing and managerial career, with Inter, Lazio, Fiorentina and Man city all hiring him at one point. As can be expected, Mancini's resignation has shocked the team and staff after only being in charge for less than a season. The Manchester City Board is expected to announce their choice with in the week. There is believed to be several high profile candidates in the running for the prestegious position.
Mancini has left Manchester City for reasons unknown.
Alan Mile has been chosen to manage Manchester City, just seven days out from their season opener. the former Fulham, Newcastle United and Chelsea Midfielder was capped forty-four times for England where he scored fifteen times before his career was cut short by a brutal ankle injury. When asked about his appointment the new Manager was in a good mood when he spoke to us "yes, I see my appointment as being soething that will benifet me greatly, because when you have the talent I do at my disposal, the title will have to be in your sights." What will come of this appointment who knows?
Manchester city has recieved the services of Marek Hamsik, Diego forlan and Yury Zhirkov in the week which Alan Mile has been in control, this indicates that Mile is looking for a group of consistant and strong performers, without the high price tag or egos, this may work out very well and deliver Man City that title they so badly need.
Marek Hamsik, This Slovakian midfielder, is a wonderkid plain and simple, he's yound and performs well with 13 caps and 2 goals at the ripe age of 22, this kid has been predicted to go on to bigger and better things in the future and has even been told by his nationl manager that he could be the worlds best midfielder with in a year
Diego Forlan, The Uruguayan striker started out his career with Argentinian side Indepenite, before being transfered to Manchester United. Forlan dissapointed at Man U taking 22 games to get his first goal, although he scored a double aainst liverpool in a 2-1 win, Forlan's time at Man U was mostly negative. He was then transferred to Villareal for 2.2 million pounds, where he struck a river of form, seeing this Atletico Madrid signed him up for 18.25 million and hadn't loooked back, with forlan delivering two european golden boots. It took a 31.5 million pound transfer fee to convince Atletico Madrid to release their Golden striker and ow back in England Man City hope he can deliver a third european golden boot.
Yury Zhirkov, The russian Midfielder has attracted few buyers with only three transfers to his name however this doesn't reflect the skill of the Russian regular who reguarly puts in great performances.
