United have announced the academy building at Carrington will be redeveloped in a big way with significant funds. It's unclear at this stage whether Foster + Partners will oversee the design, but it would make sense #mufc

Manchester United are appointing Brentford chief operating officer Ameesh Manek as director of football operations at Old Trafford. Staff at United and Brentford were informed of the news earlier on Wednesday.

Manek will effectively run United's Carrington training ground - the base for the daily football operation - with responsibility for travel, security, training facilities and staff management and infrastructure.

He is the latest leadership appointment by United CEO Omar Berrada. [@SamiMokbel_BBC , @NizaarKinsella] #MUFC
