To explain this thread, what is the best deal(or free signing) you could have realised, but you haven't?
My best deal was Matias Ezequiel Schelotto. I could have bought him with Hajduk in second season, I scouted him and it said he had the potential to play similarly to Mirko Oremuš(My right winger who plays brilliantly, but...). It turned out that he became a lot better than Mirko and he usually destroys me in Lyon.

I'm guessing this is more like people you should've signed is what you mean.

I've had a transfer agreed, but then taken away.

Ola Toivonen, agreed price and contract to come to Reading in 2011/2012 in the Premiership, but PSV didn't want to let him go and let his contract run out, signs for Arsenal on a free next summer. I most certainly was dissapoint.

I had the chance to sign Frank Lampard on a free for QPR in the Championship after he was release by Chelsea. I brought him in on trial for 4 weeks to have a look at him and then entered negotiations. He was just within my budget so I offered a deal and he eventually accepted. He'd take out a chunk of my wage budget but he'd be a great signing.

I decided to delay for a week because there wasn't any other interest in him and he had picked up a 3 week injury and I'd save a weeks' worth of his wages. I holidayed for a day for a pre season game, returned and he had entered talks with Middlesbrough.

Needless to say he finished Championship top scorer and I he scored a hat trick into me in the play off semi-finals.

I turned down the chance to sign Hamsik in my second season at Roma for 48million from Napoli. The next season I decided I wouldn't try to sign him due to the cost. He then went to a newly promoted Fulham for 24million. That one hurt bad.

I decided not to sign Alexis Sanchez for Liverpool because his wages were too high. He then joins Chelsea for half the wages he wanted from me and scores 23 goals in 27 games. Unbelievable

i signed a very nice looking john fleck on loan from manchester city and he did well for me and i had a clause to buy him for 9.25 million but i decided against it as i realised his contract was expiring the season after so i could get him so much cheaper :)

a germen regen who was on loan at chelsea, his contract was expiring at the end of the season, and in january i decided not to offer him a contract due to him having a below average season. he joined spurs, some seasons later, i forked out £59 million for him.

one player who i truly wanted but didn't, another regen, me and real madrid both entered contract talks with the player, but i backed out and he joined madrid, he became the best AM and MC.

*will post ss later*

Changed the thread title for you because the original one made me die a little on the inside.

no problem :D

Was about to sign this regen called Robert Vargas from Corinthians (I think). Was about to seal the deal, but then the transfer fell through because there was a restriction on something. Eventually, a European team snapped him up, and five to ten years later, he's playing at the club I beat to win the Champions League, but was also a winner of the Player of the Year award. I was extremely frustrated that I didn't sign him. Now, he's worth £25million.
