It's official-Russian multibillionaire, Alexei Mordashov, has completed the takeover of Portsmouth F.C according to the Pompey Supporters Trust.

Here was a statement released from the club last night:
Talks have been going on for weeks, but Alexei Mordashov has officially completed the takeover of Portsmouth Football Club.
Mordashov had his first interview with the media today-and he has some big ambitions for the club.
Mordashov: I am delighted to be the new owner of Pompey. They are a massive club, a sleeping giant. I feel like they are a gem, a gem that hasn't been polished. I want to polish this gem, and make them into european giants, that's what the fans deserve.
Reporter: What are your plans for the club? Will Richie Barker continue as Pompey boss?
Mordashov: No, i can confirm that Barker will be departing the club, and we have a list of candidates that we think are right to take the club forward.
Reporter: What about in terms of players? Will there be a clear out?
Mordashov: That is correct, potentially up to 25 players will be sold or released. And up to 25 players will be bought in.
Reporter: You sound like you have big ambitions, do you think Pompey could be challenging for the Premier League title under your ownership? Maybe even in the next 10 years?
Mordashov: Yes, i have drawn up a plan to have Pompey Football Club challenging with the big guns within hopefully the next 8-10 years.
Reporter: Will there be anyone you will be bringing in, in terms of directors and back room staff?
Mordashov: Nicola Cortese will be announced later today as Chairman, and Txiki Begiristain will soon be announced as Director of Football.
