Liverpool Football Club is a special unique family club, a club filled with unimaginable success. The clubs fortunes all changed for the best on the 14th December 1959 when the late great Bill Shankly was appointed as manager. He turned Liverpool from a struggling second division team to first division title contenders within a few seasons. He laid the foundations for the unimaginable success that was just behind the corner for this magnificent club.

On the 12th of July 1974 surprisingly to all reds worldwide Bill Shankly announced his retirement from Liverpool Football Club, this was the move that started a glittering spell of European and domestic domination.

Soon after Shankly's retirement Liverpool's hierarchy appointed Bob Paisley whom at the time was a familiar face at Liverpool from his playing days and his involvement within the famous "Boot Room".

Paisley led Liverpool to an incredible 20 honours :

At the age of 64 the great Bob Paisley stepped down due to family issues, soon after his resignation the late Joe Fagan took the reigns which himself and Dalglish kept the conveyor belt of trophy's flowing into the club.

The end of an era!

Unfortunately on the 15th of April 1989 a truly disastrous tragedy
occurred It was one of the most glamorous domestic cup ties of the season a tie between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest two of the greatest footballing sides at the time.

Due to irresponsible decisions by the police force 96 (Liverpool fans) preventable deaths occurred.

This was all to much for Kenny Dalglish too handle, a man who helped the families tremendously, a man who attended each and everyone of the victims funerals.

Dalglish resigned on the 22nd February 1991, many believe the tragedy was a main implementer in his resignation.

Ever since 1991 Liverpool have been in a down hill spiral albeit picking up a few honours on the way.

New manager appointed at Liverpool Football Club!

Liverpool Football Club today announced the appointment of Bob Paisleys grandson, Tom Paisley in hope that he can reincarnate past successes.

Tom said of his appointment "I am honoured and privileged to be given the opportunity to manage a club of such a stature, this is a club I've always been attached to due to my grandfathers involvement and if I can bring 10% as much success as which he bought then am sure all of our fantastic fans around the world will be appreciative. I want to finish off what Shanks and my grandfather started off here and that is to turn Liverpool into the most feared side in world football, a bastion of invincibility. All I can ask is for the supporters to give myself, the staff and the players the support that they have always given, this will admittedly not be an easy task but there's no room for failure and I will put my life on the line to lead this club back to it's former glory, I can't wait to get started."

Targets for the 12-13 season :

Premier League : Top 2 finish
UEFA Cup : Winners
F.A Cup : Winners

Paisleys men have gone on a tremendous run of great results, many may say this is a temporary "honeymoon" period, however only time will tell.

Europa league 3rd round Qualification

Liverpool 2 - 1 Vitesse
Vitesse 2 - 1 Liverpool (P)
Dinamo Moscow 1 - 4 Liverpool
Liverpool 0 - 0 Dinamo Moscow

Premier League
Swansea 0 - 2 Liverpool
Liverpool 4 - 1 Newcastle

Academy

Paisleys next priority was to secure the academy's long term future by securing the services of reserve team manager Rodolfo Borrell on a long term contract as well as the appointment of Phil Cannon from Blackburn Rovers as head of youth development.

September

September has been a tough month, we had to visit Chelsea away and United at home if am being honest I was pretty apprehensive going into these fixtures, however the lads stuck together and showed the fight and desire that I expect them to show to play for this club.

Europa League

Arsenal Kyiv 2 - 2 Liverpool

I rested a lot of players in this match in order to keep them in good condition for the tough league fixtures ahead.

Premier League

Liverpool 5 - 0 Reading
Chelsea 3 - 3 Liverpool
( I was 2-0 down until the 70th minute very happy with this result)
Liverpool 0 - 0 Manchester United

Capital one cup 3rd round

Liverpool 3 - 1 Watford (Once again I played a lot of youngsters to keep the lads fresh)

All in all am pretty happy with how September panned out, am not particularly happy about the United result as I was hoping that we could capitalise on our home advantage to take a 3 point lead over United in the league table.

As things stand we are currently 5th in the league, 3 points behind United (1st) with a game in hand. P5 W3 D2

Breaking news Pepe Reina out for 4 weeks

October was a pretty straight forward month, the hardest fixture without a shadow of doubt was Everton at Goodison Park. Loosing Pepe Reina didn't prove to much as a blow as I first anticipated.

Premier League

Liverpool 1 - 1 Tottenham
Norwich 0 - 2 Liverpool

Europa League

Liverpool 4 - 1 Maritimo
AZ 2 - 5 Liverpool

Capital one cup 4th round

Everton 0 - 1 Liverpool

All in all it's been a very successful month, we've qualified for the Europa League knock out rounds, progressed in the League cup and we're currently 4th in the league 6 points behind City (1st) with 2 games in hand.
