Expectations
The expectations for this season is to get into the play-offs which seems fair enough given the depth in the team and with the board giving no transfer budget seems like a season of getting in free agents/loanees and trying to develop players through the youth system.

Pre-season/Tatics
The tatic I'm gonna use for the upcoming season is going to be a 4231 with defensive midfielders, this formation is one of my favorites to use seem to be pretty successful with it on other saves I've had in the past so i thought i will give it a try on this one as well.

The opening day of the Liga Adelante is fast approaching and with pre-season friendlies out the way it has been average in terms of results playing 6 in total winning 2 drawing 1 and losing 3 (left my assistant in charge of them).

One game that surprised me was the 2-3 lose to Barcelona and to get a result
like that against such a big team was good, even if they did dominate us off the park.

Transfers
The summer transfer window has slammed shut, but for RCD Mallorca it wasn't a very busy one with only with no one leaving the club and only one player coming in on loan.

Alex Grimaldo, 19, comes in on loan from Barcelona, Alex plays his role at the left position but can aslo play his trade right back and wing back and winger on the left and central midfield, he is a talent for his age and he is only going to get better would love to make him part of my squad in the future.

August/September

Hasn't been the best of starts into my career at RCD Mallorca in the first couple of months, but sitting mid-table will do me for now but need to improve if we want to get into the play-offs.

24/08/14 - (Away) Valladolid 1-1 - Xisco
First game of the season away to one of the title
contenders, this was a very even game so a 1-1 draw was a fair result at the end of day

31/8/14 - (Home) Las Palmas 2-0
A defeat in our second game wasn't good and especially our first game at home but in terms of possession it was a close match but it came to going upfront they finished their chances off.

7/9/14 - (Away) Leganes 4-1 - Fofo
Again in terms of possession this game was 50/50 but our defence got broken down so easy which led to us going 4 nil down then by the 90+1st minute when Fofo finally got one back but was too little too late by then.

(Spanish cup 2nd round) 10/9/14 (Home) Lugo 1-0
This game we turned around and played well but again couldn't finish it upfont again which is letting us down cause we have the talent to.

14/9/14 (Home) Reacreativo 4-1 - Fofo, Xisco x2, Markovic
What a win this was really turned it around scoring 4 and getting our first 3 points of the season moving us right up the table.

20/9/14 (Away) Osasuna 2-1 - Markovic, Xisco
Second win of the season against one of the biggest teams in this league and to go away and win at Osasuna was brilliant.

28/9/14 (Home) Barcelona 'B' 2-1 - Fofo
A defeat to Barcelona 'B' was hard to take from being 1 nil up we let our guard drop then they got it back to 1-1 then when it was looking close to finishing, a superb free kick from Halilovic for Barcelona 'B' took all 3 points

After the last two months of the season starting we started off pretty poorly with only winning two games drawing one and losing the rest, during the months of October and November I was hoping to turn things around to start pushing for the play-off positions.

Everyone at RCD Mallorca had to say their last goodbyes to Israeli Attacking Midfielder Gai Assulin as the players contract was terminated by the clubs manager, Manager David Morris cancelled the players contract as he was trying to use the force of player power to try and get into the first team, Hopefully the rest of the team will realise what this would be when they will try and use player power in the future as Morris has indicated that he is in charge of the match day squad pickings.

October results

In the month of October RCD Mallorca played four games and time to start picking up more points.

We start off the month with an away game to Real Zaragoza with the match been shown on tv we hope to put in a good performance to show that we mean business in the Liga Adelante.

5/10/14 - (Away) - Real Zaragoza - 0-3 L
What a disappointing result losing 3 nil but one positive thing we did dominate them in possession but in terms of defending and attacking we was really poor in this match.

12/10/14 - (Home) - Alaves - 1-0 W - Specovic
This was a turn around getting 3 points with the 1 nil win this was a close game but making a chance is all it needs and thats what Specovic done on the 20th minute of the game

19/10/14 - (Away) - Llagostera - 1-0 W - Fofo
Brilliant stuff two wins in a row with the only goal coming from Fofo on the 81st minute, again another close match but we pulled away with it late on in the game to secure another 3 points

25/10/14 - (Home) - Sadadell - 0-2 L
Poor day at the office this game no one really looked good in this match which led to a 2 nil defeat

That rounds up Octobers games picking up six points out of four games was hoping for nine at least but lets see what November has to offer us.

November Results

This month sees us play 5 games looking to pick up over 10 points and move up the league table

1/11/14 - (Home) - Lugo - 1-0 W - Gulan
Good way to start the month off by picking up 3 points, with the match drawing into a close it look like it was gonna finish how it started 0-0 until Gulan picked it out the bag on the 90th minute for all 3 points
8/11/14 - (Away) - Racing - 1-0 W - Fofo
There was nothing to split our two teams apart, in the 40th minute of the game Granero got sent off for Racing which we took into our advantage with fofo scoring on the 50th minute was hoping for couple of more as well but 3 points is all that matters
16/11/14 - (Home) - Alcorcon - 3-1 W - Arana, Bustos, Specovic
Brilliant play all around in this one with the game being done in the first half of it, Specovic opened the scoring in the first minute of the game, goals from both Bustoa and Arana both got their goal right before the half time whistle with both bagging in on 45+1 and 45+4 to get us our 3rd win in a row.
22/11/14 - (Away) - Tenerife - 1-2 L - Arana
After a impressive 3-1 win comes a narrow defeat of to one to Tenerife, Arana took the lead for us in the 9th minute and held on to that until the 55th minute before they got the equaliser and then on the 66th minute we gave away a penalty for them to take the 3 points away
30/11/14 - (Home) - Sporting - 1-1 D - Markovic
To be honest this one deserved to finish in a draw after both sets of players only had best of an average game nothing to exciting to talk about in this one so we shall leave it there for it there for this game.

That was a slightly better month in my eyes picking up 10 points in 5 games was gutted to lose the Tenerife game like that but that's the way football goes sometimes, now lets have a look where abouts we sit in the Liga Adelante.

View attachment 808632
We sit in a good 10th position only 2 points outside of the play-offs couple wins could put us right up there but what we really need to change is our goal difference we have got -2 which could be a set back at the end of the season if comes to it.

I think I will leave it there for now probably will try updating once or maybe twice a week if I can.

Interesting! Would like some more pictures of the squad :) Try to sign some more Barca players on loan! Maybe Samper?

Good start! I love stories where you try and break through into the top of a country!

Coming into the half way mark of the season its time in point a couple of key first team players.

First off we will start with attacking midfielder/Striker Fofo leading goalscorer of the Mallorca faithful.

Next player to be pointed out has to 26 year old Centre Back/Defensive Mid Yuste on loan from Granada he has been very solid at the back.
View attachment 823182

Lastly we have youngster Asensio on loan from Real Madrid at the young age of 18 this kid will only get better (i hope) but he has been proven vital in our midfield area.

December!

Kicking off our first out three matches in December is an away trip to Real Betis, probably one of the hardest away trips for us this season, having not played a game in just under 2 weeks the boys are raring to go.

10/12/14 - Real Betis - Away - 1-1
Markovic

After taking the lead so early on in the game I thought we could crack on and get another but it wasn't to be we held on till the 75th minute when Cejudo for Betis got the Equaliser but overall I'm impressed with that result.

13/12/14 - Numancia - Home - 2-1
Fofo
Pereira

Good win at home and making us undefeated in 3 now, would of liked more goals in this game for us as we had 22 attempts but only 6 on target but was glad to take all points

20/12/14 - Ponferradina - Away - 0-4
Terrible from start to finish defence never woke up and thats how this match was lost by a big margin.

After the games in December we still sit in 10th place sitting only 2 points outside the play-off area so and as it all stands one win could change a lot but also can one defeat but hopefully I keep the boys heads up and get that all important play-off spot.

After the turn of the new year financially struken Mallorca played their first game against Albacete and after the game the chairman invited manager David Morris in to his office to discuss about the poor first team performances and thinking if I still the right man for the job, I automatically turned around and said ' I know some matches haven't gone our way but I'm willing to keep on fighting and giving it all to the club I want us to go along way together' the chairman seems happy so he said 'I'm gonna set you a target of getting 9 points out of the next 5 games' with a smile on my face I response 'that's very achievable im gonna try my very best to turn our season around'.

With next game rapidly approaching I get onto to the training round up the lads to tell them what I expect to see from them in the next few games and to tell them what my plans are to change up our tactics to try and give us a better edge in matches.

January Results

After the meeting with chairman and the change of tactics our after the game with Albacete, our next four games have come unbeaten with 2 draws and 2 wins moving us up to 8th in the league and 1 point from the play off spots and with some big games coming up against the likes Osasuna and Real Zaragorza I'm hoping our run of form can continue.
