Watford, A team who have really yet to be a prominant figure in the premier league but look to have the quality to go up from the Championship, They have been close in recent years but never had enough succsess, I am here to change this.

I am currently in my 3rd season and I will post how it has gone so far:

Season 1 review:

First time upon asking, we spent big on a couple of players and they help deliver a second plae finish in the championship. I have to put this all down to 2 men. Odion Ighalo and Matej Vydra. Between them they managed a whoopin 52 goals in all competitions, 27 for Ighalo and 25 for Vydra.

Our cup succsess however was much smaller however, losing in the 4th round of the FA Cup to Newcastle 4-3 and going out of the capital one cup in the 4th round against Arsenal in a 4-1 demotivating loss. We did however manage to beat Liverpool in the previous round thanks to a Matej Vydra Hat-trick.

Season 2 Review:

We spent our fair share of 35 Million bringing in talents such as Zivkovic, Piatti, Marin, Pereyra and others, and they served us well

We grabbed ourselves an 11th place finish in our first premier league season as we push for succsess. Our shining star was Richario Zivkovic who grabbed 22 goals and 15 assists in 31 games, landing himself 2nd in top goalscorer and a sub appearence in Team of the season.

In the FA Cup we reached the Semi-finals before losing narrowly 1-0 to Chelsea, we had complete different luck in the Capital one cup as we crashed out in the second round after a loss to Derby.

Season 3 Review:

We had an Absolute outstanding season with a Spending spree changing our squad from mediocre talent into some world class starters spending the best part of 130 Million strengthening the team.

We grabbed ourselves a 7th place finish as we push to try and get ourselves into the Europa league. Two main stand-out players, Club Hero Richario Zivkovic who one again led the line grabbing 19 goals and the clubs record signing Lucas Moura with 21 Assists.

We did much better in the cups this year, We reached the Semi-finals of the Capital one cup but we lost out to chelsea losing 10-6 on aggregate (Cracking Tie), and Reaching the FA Cup Final before losing 1-0 to Spurs despite being down to 9 men. Still without silverware but will hopefully come soon.

Now that we are caught up we can continue the story on a monthly basis.

Season 4 Pre-season:

This transfer window was used to fill in postitions of players who decided to leave. After the agonising loss in the FA Cup final and missing out on Europa league Football, many of our players decided they wanted to leave the club to pursue a team with continental qualification.

Some of the main departures were:

Memphis Depay-30m

Eder Alvarez Balanta-30m

Martin Odegaard-27.5m

We had to spend what very little money we got from the sales. We brought in some youth players and some experience to strenghten for the season ahead.

Main Arrivals:

Jan Oblak-20m

Marco Verrati-11m

Wayne Rooney-Loan.

Hopefully we will have strenghtened enough for the season ahead but I don't expect much from the first few game with around 8 players injured or suspended.

August:

We had an abysmal August, only 3 games played and we were absolutely dominated in our two league games and were lucky to salvage anything from our cuo game however we were hit by a large amount of injuries to alot of our key players so hopefully we can pick our season up in the next couple of months:

Watford 1-4 Chelsea

Jose Maria Giminez

Liverpool 3-1 Watford

Belhanda (Corozzo S/O)

Sheffield Wednesday 0-2 Watford

Belhanda, Jose Maria Giminez

Player of the month.

In a month of so many negatives we had one shining light in Younes Belhanda who works until the end in every game, grabbing himself 2 goals and an average rating of 7.37.
