Lincoln FC (Gib)

With the new Gibraltarian database add on being released I felt it would be rude not to try my hand in the league. I have always enjoyed managing in the small, obscure European league however to have a proper SI made league will hopefully make life a little easier where rules and finances are concerned.

I?ve had one or two stories on here now that haven?t really got going, mainly due to time commitments, so another bonus to this challenge is that the league only had 14 games, plus I believe a cup and a charity shield.

I?ve also always been a fan of youth challenges and not signing players, so, like my San Giovanni challenge that is the way i?m going to go again.

I?ve chosen Lincoln as they are the best and most successful team in Gibraltar?s history, and with me not signing anyone I feel the headstart i?m going to get on the other teams will give me an advantage in trying to earn Champions League prize money, first to turn semi pro and eventually to make the club the first ever professional outfit from ?The Rock?

So the club starts with a measly 62 season ticket holders who pay only 6 quid a game of 30 for the season. As expected any income will have to come from European exploits. The club plays in the 5,000 seater national stadium, however so does every other club in Gibraltar. I will be looking to move us to a new home as soon as I have the funds to do so.

The squad is the strongest in the league (not saying much) and we actually already have 16 internationals at various levels for Gibraltar. I?ve picked out some of ours ?stars? so you can see the level of player i?m working with.

This lad is a natural left winger but his stats are screaming out full back to me, i also like the fact he only has one name. Brazillian wannabe.

Sturdy right back who already has 18 full international caps to his name. Not the best going forward but top defensive stats for the level we?re at.

Bags of flair but a shame he only has 3 composure. Will be training him to blast the ball and hope it ends up in the net.

Our main youth prospect at just 17 and he already has 14 tackling. Sadly he?s not strong or brave so i?m looking to get his passing up and mould him into a play maker.

So that?s the team and a little info about the club. With the seasons only having 14 games it seems most feasible to only update at the end of each season with a report on how we?ve done, the youth intake, and anything else that I feel is interesting or noteworthy. I'll try and provide as much info as possible to make the story interesting (i'm aware seasonal updated aren't everyones cup of tea), though if you wish to see anything in particular just ask.

I entered my first season at the club with high expectations domestically and the players did not disappoint. We didn?t enter the CL qualifiers first season which was a blow but we?ll certainly be in there next season?

If you were alert reading the first update you?ll already know I won the Pepe Reyes Cup (Community Shield) with a hard-fought 1-0 win over what I expected to be my main rivals. I was still playing with the tactics at this point so we were far from convincing

We only won the league by 5 points in the end with Glacis United pushing us all the way to the final 2 games. They also inflicted one of our 2 defeats, with St Josephs the only other side to beat us. I got the tactics right in the second half of the season and we ended up on an 11 game winning run in all comps.

This was our best win of the season, an absolute demolition of Gibraltar Phoenix who unsurprisingly went on to be relegated

We won all 3 of our group games pumping in 13 goals in the process, then after beating Lynx FC 3-1 in the semi went on to win the final at a canter.

This was the final game of the season, and helped me to complete a ?famous? quadruple in my first season at the club! I was never expecting too much domestic trouble though, but I need to progress in Europe going forward in order to fund better youth facilities. (I?m sure the national team manager agrees too)

Well, at least winning everything kept everyone sweet, even if it wasn?t much of an achievement.

We top the majority of the stats and often fill them out with our own players. Except the golden boot which is pinched from under our noses by Glacis?s 36 year old talisman.

Our own stats look tidy, with our AMC Duarte coming out as leading scorer. Lead striker Alvez is 37 next birthday, so i?m hoping for some quality coming through in that department sooner rather than later.
And speaking of the intake..

View attachment 408444

We don?t have a proper intake where I get to choose the candidates they are just automatically placed in the reserves, so not all of these are youths. I will however showcase the best few from the intake below.

He?s already better than anyone we?ve got! Very promising to say this is our first intake and the facilities are poor (no idea what youth rating they?ve given Gibraltar) It?s probably a shame he?s come so early as he won?t see the benefits of semi pro and pro training later on.

I don?t play wingers so there?s retraining needed, but a good prospect nonetheless

A tough defender who also headed straight into the first team to partner other young centre half Ballester

They went up rather than down, but we won?t see any real money until we make inroads into the Champions League qualifiers.

My aim next season is obviously to make it to at least round 2 of the CL qualifiers in order to get the payout, round 3 seems unrealistic at the moment but you never know what the draw will bring.

As always, any other screenshots feel free to ask...

Good going mate, love an obscure league. Hope the Gibraltar Phoenix will be back with a vengeance rising from the ashes well like a Phoenix. KIU

Cheers mate, and they've not started well.. next to bottom of division 2 after 9 games!

EDIT: They did get their revenge! They've taken one of my 3 coaches to be their new manager.. ahhh i'm gonna be haunted by them forever.
