For a change, I thought I would start in lower leagues so after looking at the clubs in league 2, and deciding that notts county just wouldn't be the team I wanted to be I looked into Aldershot fc. One of my friends supports Aldershot so I've always known a bit about them and their very impressive history since the club was re-born after going broke.

So I took over the club and was given a grand total of 20k transfer budget and a wage budget of 15.25k. My wages at the moment are 14.4k

The best players in my team by first glance seem to be Kirk Hudson (RM) and John Halls (RB) with the weak spots looking to be strikers and goalkeepers. So on the hunt I go for at least one striker and definitely one goalkeeper.

I've got matthew patterson from southampton fc in mind as a striker and maybe bialowski the goalkeeper from southampton fc but will see.

I will update this as often as I can so please read as and when to make it worthwhile! :)

so this is my first starting team line up as standard. Depending on who I bring in I would like to change the formation to 4 3 3 with the standard back 4, 3 central midfielders, 2 wide wingers and the lone striker
 
First Signing in!!! unfortunately southampton were not able to loan out bialowski however I made a swoop for Norwich City's under 19 england international; Declan Rudd who will replace Masters in goal. I managed to get him for a bargain price of just 1k and seems just what I need.

Grant made instant success after being substituted by scoring a goal from inside the area to bottom left corner and then following up with a header from close range 9 minutes later


unfortunately after this match, I find out matty patterson has gone to Peterboro :( sad times for aldershot but my search for another striker continues

Second signing in; Michail Antonio loan signing from reading until the end of the season wage contribution - 0% hes a quick player and will make a very good sub. Plays on the wing

ok he aint the best of signings but he is reasonably fast and has ok finishing will make excellent cover

nice to see the new loan signing score 2 goals against the team from the Northern Ireland team


Promotion odds 40-1 relegation is a strong possibility - well, we will see!!


Fourth Signing - Michal Dolinajec - Free Transfer. the 18 year old's contract at southampton expired which left me in the run for the attacking midfielder. pretty average player but will make good cover and has loads of potential

Couple more signings;

Michael Mullin - striker 4k from stirling lightening pace up front with acceleration at 15 and first touch at 11 hopefully a gem

Pavel Suhaj - striker - free transfer 6 foot 4 giant with great jumping and heading ability

Hopefully these two will be the perfect match up front for me

out tho we have Soares who leaves to rushden and diamonds on loan for 5 months who Hudson slammed me for; how rude!

8th August 2009 - 1st League Game

LEAGUE 2 - Aldershot v Darlington

aldershot start with mullun, suhaj, antonio and rudd all starting with their first appearances for aldershot

gone with a 442 option as it works with the players I have

first half -good performance probably on equal terms with antonio not playing too well. a penalty is given on the 40th minute for the shots which mullins converts easily

HT aldershot 1- 0 Darlington

ENCOURAGE

54 minute ; antonio makes a run down the wing and makes an excellent pass to Mullins who finishes cleanly from just outside the box. Excellent play from antonio

82nd minute; Harding gets in the way from a cross scoring an own goal

Subs: vasilev and morgan replace the two strikers with dolinajec replacing the yellow carded Donnelly

the shots withstand a last 10 minute heavy barrage of attacks with rudd making some very good saves to win the game 2-1

LEAGUE CUP

Aldershot Town v Plymouth

yeh not so overly confident about this especially with antonio and vasilev cup tied. John Grant comes into subs and Hudson goes into the first team replacing Antonio

After 26 seconds they score from close range sheridan with the goal

A misjudged header allowed judge to slip a second goal for plymouth in after 23 minutes

Sheridan wrapped it all up making it 3-0 witha close range header after 35 minutes

Fallon with a header after 43 minutes to make it 4-0

this is painful

HT shots 0 - 4 plymouth

hinshelwood is replaced by Blackburn throught to injury

DISAPPOINTED

70th minute Grant replaces Suhaj and Hylton replaces Sandell

FT shots 0 - 4 Plymouth

boring second half with nothing really happening

A result that was expected to be honest but would have been nice to at least get a goal

MOM - Plymouth's Sheridan who scored 2 goals

Injury to Hinshelwood is thankfully a light one and will be out for between 7 and 10 days

LEAGUE 2 - Rochdale v Aldershot

just 3 days after the league cup defeat

I play the original starting lineup that beat darligton with the exception of Hinshelwood who is replaced by Blackburn through to injury

HT 0-0

pretty boring first half with most the play coming from Rochdale although the Shots had a header from Suhaj cleared off the line

60th minute - higginbotham scored a easy header to bottom left corner

65th minute - Blackburn pokes an easy goal from a corner to middle of the goal with instant reply!

70th minute - Antonio buries a header into the top corner with a fine cross from Straker

80th minute - vasilev on for mullien and dolinajec on for donnolly

82nd minute - higginbotham beats the offside trap to place a shot to bottom left hand corner to equalise

FT 2-2 im not unhappy with this they had most the possession and about 10 more shots then I did so I'll take this result with ease :)

LEAGUE 2 - Bournemouth v Aldershot

3rd game in 8 days is a tough game for the Shots who will have to get their *** in gear for this one!
Mullin had a poor game against Rochdale so has been moved to the bench with Vasilev replacing him.

7th minute - Pitman low drive from 20 yards out to bottom left hand corner - good goal
34th minute - corner taken is kicked at goal misses and rebounds of vasilev's back into the goal
i think its just one of those days!!

HT bournemouth 2 - 0 aldershot

62nd minute - Suhaj with a poachers goal from a deflection
vasinev and harding come off and are replaced by mullen, dolinajec

83rd minute - penalty given to bournemouth for unfair fowl and converted by pitman 3-1

FT - Bournemouth 3 - 1 Aldershot

disappointing game but i think it was just one of those games that nothing goes right for you!

21 minute symes heads a goal in for accrington to make it 1-0

23 minute vasinev scored a header from close range

25 minute vasinev scores a second goal in close range to bottom right corner

3 GOALS in 5 minutes!!!

the pressure is on for accrington as they withstand a heavy attack from aldershot

HT - Aldershot 2 - 1 Accrington
good first half but proves I need a good centre half who is tall and has good heading ability

Ryan goes down in penalty box and given; a penalty for accrington which Proctor converts; a harsh penalty decision makes an equaliser for the weaker team

subs; mullen and dolinajec come on for harding and suhaj

27th August 2009 - Troy Brown signed from Ipswich on a loan deal until the end of the season - wage contribution = 0. he is a centre back and will be looking to prove himself in the first team

Ian Davidson from Raith signed for 12k - 25 year old defender / midfielder - looks to be a good buy with lots of determination

29th August 2009 LEAGUE 2 - Grimsby v Aldershot

HT 0-0 pretty boring half to be honest

48th min - DAVIDSON makes his debut with a goal in his own net - grimsby 1-0

FT 1-0 to grimbsy - jus cant seem to be supplying the strikers at all. i think im jus gonna direct the ball down the flanks and see if that works next match

now dropped to 17th :(
 
JPT northampton v aldershot

hudson replaces antonio and troy brown makes his debut replacing davidson

not too bothered about the JPT and expect to lose

Guinan scores after 11 mins for northampton

Brown equalises on his debut with a volley from a cross delivered by sandell

Osman scores to put northampton back on front after 22 minutes

Andy holt makes it 3-1 after 50 mins

il b following mate all u have 2 do is keep goin im at morcambe at the moment and just about 2 start the season and just need 2 achieve mid table...what are your objectives mate??
