Has anyone else seen this film? I saw it yesterday and really enjoyed it. I was skeptical about how they could make a film about facebook interesting for 2 hours 2 minutes but they really did pull it off. I won't go into too much detail (possible spoilers) but I would highly recommend going to see it. I enjoyed the format of the film as it switches from present day to the past, progressing forwards as the development of facebook happens. That's all I'll say about it. Anyone who has seen it, feel free to post your views and anyone who hasnt, go see it and then post your views <)<)

I don't get how they make a film about Facebook, is it educational or what?

basically it's the story of how facebook became just a website for Harvard University to becoming a world wide phenomenon. Quite interesting how it all happened as there is quite a lot of controversy and other interesting things. I really don't want to say too much so I don't ruin it. One thing I will say is that I am very confused with how it was rated only a 12 lol

Post in here mate?
I think it looks rather dark tbh, not my thing :O

You're right I could have just posted in there but then I feel a discussion can't happen quite as well. Looking down the list in this section there was a thread for 'Kick ***' that wasn't closed and had mods commented on it so I thought I would make a thread for this film. It is sort of dark but it's 12 (somehow!) so it's not that bad at all. The guy who plays Mark Zuckerberg was amazing I thought, really made a very interesting and complex character. Have you seen the trailer for the film?

As I've said before on IRC, I would of preffered to of just had a half decent documentary made about the subject but I suppose a film can't hurt. I've read a lot about Zuckerberg on various blogs before.

"People just submitted it. I don't know why. They 'trust me.' Dumb *****."

I've wrote a "book" on it.

I won't be seeing it, seems a bit pointless.

What's pointless about it?

I spent the whole of last night asking on IRC and searching for a stream but with no luck. May just go to the cinema.

A documentary could have been a way to go which may have been better in 1 sense as it would probably go into more detail. There is still room in the future for a documentary to be made, especially as Facebook continues to grow. The film goes into sufficient detail for me, explaining the key points of making Facebook in an accessible way. Instead of being told what happened (like in a documentary) you get to see it develop. Instead of being told about people gravitating away from Mark, you get to see it for yourself. As said before I was sceptical about going to see a film about a website, but trust me it was worth seeing. I just found the whole process quite interesting, from the actual website development to Mark's development as his relationships with those close to him develop.

Next on the production line "The Football Manger Forum"

The trailer looks okay, i would like to watch it but im not much of a cinema person so ill wait till it is on sky

The most disappointing movie of all time, FM BASE, say it three times in the mirror, and you get an infraction!

I'm going with a mate to see Social Network tomorrow, because of this thread, i'll tell you what i think :P

:O what did you not enjoy about it?

It was vicious :O

It was really horribly themed and was nothing like what i expected. I din't really get what time we were in. It was like now, then ages ago when facebook wasnt as big. Just didn't get it really, but go see it if your really bored and theres nothing else you fancy on.
