Back in England after so long my last season as a player 15 appearances 2 goals 3 assists, not bad for someone who’s 35, landing I was mobbed by fans and reporters, security had to assist me to my car. The contract was signed last week in L.A, tomorrow I was going to be introduced as a manager a first in my long and successful career, I was tired looking forward to sleeping, I felt dirty jet lag got the best of me, on the way to the hotel were I was going to be staying temporarily, I thought about my kids without there dad for a couple of weeks until I got us a place and my wife I would miss her, listening to the radio about the speculation of the club I was going to take over tomorrow, favorites for the job Diego Maradona, Martin O’Neil not a mention about me, but then again more of a surprise. Listening to my iPod, JLS one shot comes on you only get one shot so make it count’, those words mean so much now this is my shot to prove that I can be a manager.

Chapter 1

Waking up alone in the penthouse I’ve rented makes me feel lonely I miss Victoria and the kids I think to myself but they will be here soon enough, still feel tired but nothing a cup of coffee and a shower wont cure, looking in the mirror at myself thinking about the meeting later, the meeting is only about the fine print on the contract I signed last week, and for Dave Whelan to introduce me as manager. Doing my hair and putting on my black suit ‘’I’m ready’’ talking to myself making my way down to the car.
The drive wasn’t easy yeah I’ve done press conferences before but this one’s different, I’m a manager today so what I say has an outcome on team performances, switching the radio on and hearing ‘’today is the day, today we find out who the new manager of Wigan athletic is, nobody is saying anything from the club until 12 o’clock today’’, just around the corner is the DW Stadium, which is my new home pulling into the gates not a reporter in sight, park the cark and make my way inside where I’m greeted by the receptionist Gabby, Gabby was short with blonde hair and piercing blue eyes her smile was amazing, ‘’this way Mr. Beckham’’, she showed me to the board room where Dave Whelan chairman of Wigan was waiting, after a talk about expectations he had he showed me to my new office, I didn’t want anything in there from the old manager Roberto Martinez, he had to leave due to his wife’s illness which was sad for him and the club, about 10 minute’s later Gabby knocks on the door ‘’Mr.Beckham the press are here’’ I made my way to a big room which was filled with people reporters from all around England Mr. Whelan finally introduced me as the new manager the room just went quiet, I sat down and asked if there were any questions for me it took a few seconds but then Adam Stockhall, The Sun, asked the first ‘’David Beckham manager of Wigan, what made you come up with the decision’’. I replied ‘’it was my time to retire and I have always been interested in managing since I started I spoke with Victoria of the offer and she agreed it would be the right move’’, after about 45 minutes I left the conference room and made my way toward the stadium it was a big stadium for a big team and a lot of expectation’s, as I made my way round to the dugout my blackberry went off ‘’hello’’ ‘’congratulations mate’’ Garry Neville my best friend, great man played with him played against him all time Man Utd hero it felt too long since we had spoken, we had a conversation about meeting up some time and he congratulated me 1 too many times but I didn’t mind, and that’s when it hit me I was the Premier League’s newest manager, David Beckham the manager of Wigan Athletic.

could be a nice story. Please don't take this the wrong way, but you need to look at the punctuation. There are many full stops and commas missing, a few spelling mistakes (which always really annoys me for some reason) and I think you should be using a new line for any speech.

There are a few good guides to story writing in the 'sticlies' that you should check out

Might be a nice story though so try not to be discouraged by this., it's just me trying to help you improve. Your writing is quite good and it's a nice idea and team

good luck

Chapter 2

With pre-season nearly over i moved on to my next task finalize the squad for the up and coming season, the left side of midfield was my major concern Juan Angel Albin was my first transfer target and as the new season was coming fast i had to move for him, my scout Kevin Reeves recommend him to me, i put in 4.5 million and the offer was accepted, Juan and his agent met with Kevin as i could not be there in person, 3 hours of tough negotiations he finally accepted the contract.

There were 2 players that didnt seem to fit in with my plans Jason Scotland and Rachid Bouaouzan so without any hesitation i placed them on the transfer list, with bids from Marseille and Millwall i got rid of the 2 people i didnt want in my squad, it also added an extra 5.5 million to spend.

Demba Ba was my next target as i got rid of one striker, with Chelsea's first team coach was already in talks i thought i might make a fast move for him and sweep him from underneath Chelsea's feet, i put in a bid of 4.9 million and in talks with him i couldn't fly out to speak with him so it had to be a conferance call, Demba was very eager to join up with my current squad and saw it as a challenge, the negotiations took 2 hours before he finally accepted the contract.
