Today Huddersfield have appointed myself as the man to take over the reins form Lee Clark. The Huddersfield chairman released a statement earlier today saying 'I am delighted that we have got our man and i firmly believe that although he was no football league manager experience, the former Rep of Ireland star has shown his managerial skills on the pitch for many of years. We are sure the fans will be happy with the appointment and hope they can get behind the new manager and the team in a push for a successful season.'

Today I have also released an ambitious statement on the clubs website for the fans 'I am over the moon to be taking over from Lee Clark and although Lee did a great job here I believe I can do I better one. I have an overall four year plan that will take this club to the English Premier League where we can rub shoulders with the worlds best. The facilities at the world are top notch and we possess a state of the art stadium which I intend on filling with supports by playing football the way it should be played. I hope the fans will get behind be for many successful years to come.

I've always liked the look of the Galpharm

Huddersfield Town have been fairly busy in the transfer window during the pre season with the new manager bringing in 7 new faces. The manager has also managed to get the champions Man United as the clubs feeder club.

The Club managed to sign experienced french midfielder Olivier Dacourt on a free transfer. THe manager feels Dacourt will bring invaluable experience to the young squad and will look to use him as much as possible in the big games.

Huddersfield have also managed to snap up highly rated Italian youngster Libertazzi Alberto for Italian giants Juventus. Huddersfield are thought to have paid around 275k for the player. Fans have stated that they can not wait to see the young Italian in action.

The new boss has also persuaded Sir Alex to let Richie De Laet join on loan from the end of the season. The manager hopes the youngster can cement a first team place quickly and help make Huddersfield a formidable force at the back.

Below is a screen shot of the clubs transfer history:

The news from Huddersfield today is that experienced french midfielder Olivier Dacourt has been made captain of the club with Peter Clarke his vice. The manager has stated that he hopes all the player can learn a lot from Dacourt and that he can lead the team to a successful time.

Pre season has thrown up some mixed results with tactics changing every game as well as personal. I think i have found a settled formation and a regular starting line up for the first couple of league games.

I will update every month in the game by giving the results, man of the match, player of the month, goal of the month and a injury update.

Below is a screen shot of the Pre season friendlies

August Update

August Update

In the final training before the new season started Huddersfield Town where hit with a massive blow. New signing and recently appointed captain Olivier Dacourt suffered a horror incident in a training match when which resulted in a leg break and a 7 months sit on the sidelines :( The management team and medical staff believe that Dacourt can make a quick and clean recovery and still play a part in the terriers season.

In the month of August the club had 5 league 1 fixtures and 2 league cup ties:

Southend 1 Huddersfield 3 Christophe - Pilkington (2) Rhodes (League 1)

We started of bad and where one down at half time but a stern half time talk and a few tactical switches resulted in a great 2nd half display and we ran out 3-1 winners to pick up a very good 3 points away from home. MOM - Anhtony Pilkington

Carlisle 1 Huddersfield 4 Anyinsah - Rhodes, Libertazzi, Pilkington, Novak (League Cup First Round)

We started like we did in the 2nd half against Southend and dominated the game the whole way through. We went 4-0 up with some great football and goals.I played my strongest team as I want a good cup run to generate money and confidence. For are performs we where handed a tough 2nd round tie at championship Preston. MOM - Anhtony Pilkington

Huddersfield 2 Southampton 0 Rhodes, Pilkington (League 1)

This was the first game at home and the team could not have put on a better show. It was against one of the top sides in the division and we again dominated for large spells and got the goals at good times. Some outstanding individual performances also and we will hope to build on this and make the Galpharm Stadium a fortress. MOM - Anhtony Pilkington

3260220826_89a760c698.jpg

Huddersfield 2 Brighton 2 Kabous, Pilkington - Crofts, Murray (League 1)

Again we started really well and got in front thanks to a Kabous wonder strike. We dominated the game right up until half time until Hefferman got red carded in the 43 minute. Brighton took over from here and took the game to us but we did get back in front only to concede in the 90 minute. However a draw was probably the correct result but it probably would have been 3 points if not for the sending off. MOM - Kabous

Bristol Rovers 3 Huddersfield 2 Kay (og) Hughes, Lescott - Libertazzi, Peltier (League 1)
In fairness the scoreline flatters us a bit because the scoreline does not reflect the game at all. Bristol Rovers dominated us for very large spells and we failed to cope with the pace they where playing at. By the 60 minute we where 3-0 and in truth it could have been more, after a change in tactic we started to play a bit and got two late goals in 87 and 90 minute and had there been another 5 minutes i think we might have got something from the game, but Bristol Rovers fully deserved the 3 points and are a team to watch for a promotion challenge this season. The team where told at the end of the match that this kind of performance was not acceptable and a tough weeks training will be to follow. MOM - Alberto Libertazzi

Preston 1 Huddersfield 5 (AET) Nicholson - Libertazzi, Novak (3) De Laet (League Cup Second Round)

What a match! After an even 90 minutes, where we took the lead and played some fantastic football which would not look out of place in the premiership, the extra time that followed was something special for the club. It was still even at 1-1 at half time in extra time and then we took off, we scored 4 goals in 10 minutes to stun the Deepdale. The four goals included a ten minute hatrick from young English striker Lee Novak having only came on in the 87 minute. The victory was a great achievement for the club and we home we can produce some more of the same for the fans to enjoy. The whole team watched the draw together after the match where we got handed an even tougher tie at premiership Sunderland. I have also attached a screen shot of this match MOM - Lee Novak

Huddersfield 2 Yeovil 0 Williams, Libertazzi (League 1)

The match was a bit flat after the excitement of Wednesday night up at Preston. We played decent football at times and got the goals when we needed them. If we had been up against a top side I think we might have struggled to be honest. Young Italian forward Libertazzi scored a good goal to cap what has been a good first month for the lad in English Football. MOM - Robbie Williams

Player of the Month - Anthony Pilkington - This was a pretty easy decision as the Irish winger scored 5 goals in 6 matches and also had 4 assists and has an average rating of 7.95. These superb performances have resulted in interest from teams like Cardiff and Notts Forest but the manager has stated he is going know where.

Injury Update - Other than the devastating news that Dacourt will be out to up to 7 months the club had no other injury worries for the month of August.

Monthly Summary
Overall a very good start for the club under the new management team with 5 wins 1 draw and 1 defeat from the first 7 games. The players could have been forgiven for starting of badly after the horror of Dacourt's injury in the training before the first match but the players did not let them effect and got on with their football. Some very good performances from Pilkington and Rhodes as well as a very good start in English football for both Libertazzi and Kabous. We are currently 5th in League 1 and into the 3rd round of the League cup where the team and fans cant wait to test themselves against Premiership opposition. I hope the team can carry the form into the next month and continue playing good football which will result in holding are lofty league position.

I have also attached screen shots of the league and my squad as well as the great game against Preston

September Update

September Update

The club had a total of 6 fixtures in the month of September, 4 league 1 matches, 1 JPT match and the League Cup tie at Sunderland

Huddersfield 2 Grimsby 0 Rhodes, Novak (pen) (JPT)

We started a bit flat and looked to be having a problem with motivation against the league 2 side. He controlled the game without really playing well and took the lead mid way through the 1st half from a neat finish from Rhodes. The 2nd half was a similar story and Grimsby did battle extremely hard and are a credit to their manager. We did not manage to kill the game til the 90 minute and we will have to improve a great deal for the next match as we wont win many league games playing the way we did MOM - Jordan Rhodes

Huddersfield 1 Brentford 1 Pilkington - Bean (League 1)

This was a really stop start game with a lot of set pieces. Brentford came with a defensive attitude but managed to go in front within 12 minutes. We responded well an it only took us 2 mins to get back on terms with a Pilkington thunder bolt. We huffed and puffed the rest of the game without doing anything special and Brentford fully deserved a hard earned point. Huddersfield Best - Anthony Pilkington

Millwall 3 Huddersfield 1 Morrison, Harris, Abdou - Kabous (League 1)

We where totally outplayed by a very good Millwall side. We can have no complaints as we did not perform anywhere near are best. We where 3 down after 38 minutes after conceding a few very poor defensive goals. We played slightly better after the break after some harsh words and a few personal changes. Kabous got one back late on but it was to little to late. It was not the confidence boost we where after heading into the big League cup tie up at Sunderland. Huddersfield Best - Kabous

Sunderland 3 Huddersfield 2 Turner, Benjani, Cattermole - Collins Novak League Cup 3rd Round
The team can be very proud of a great display against a full strength Sunderland team. We got of to the perfect start with a goal in the 1st minute. From here he seemed to be in disbelief ourselves as they scored 3 goals in 7 minutes to lead 3-1 after 13 minutes. We managed to hang on til half time where we regrouped and went out in the 2nd half and played as well as we have all season. we got a goal back in the 78 minute and then hit the woodwork in the 83 and denied what looked a certain penalty in injury time. We had Sunderland on the ropes in the closing stages put could not get the knockout blow. Although we lost the game I hope this will give the lads a boost to perform well for the rest of the month. We seemed to perform well at the big stage and this bit of experience is an incentive for the lads to aim for Premiership football. Huddersfield Best - Michael Collins

SUNDERLAND+-+Stadium+of+Light+1.jpg

Huddersfield 3 Stockport 0 Novak (2) N.Clarke (League 1)

We picked up where we let off against Suderland and took the game to Stockport from the first whistle. We never looked like losing this game and got the result and a performance to go with it. MOM - Lee Novak

Walsall 2 Huddersfield 2 Nicholls (2) - Libertazzi, Baxter (League 1)

We played well in patches but never really hit top gear in this encounter. It was a great game to watch as it was free flowing with plenty of chances. We took the lead twice in this game the 2nd time being in the 85 minute which looked like a winner but we conceded again 2 minutes later. Neither team deserved to lose this game but with a bit more luck we could have been taking a valuable 3 points home. Huddersfield Best - Alberto Libertazzi

Player of the Month - Lee Novak There was not a stand out contender for the award but with 3 goals in 6 games and also for his continues work rate in every game he played. Novak also came 3rd in the leagues young player of the month award. Novak has been impressive this season I hope he continues his good progress for the rest of the season.

Breaking News Huddersfield Town have turned to their affiliated parent club Man Utd in an attempt to bring in more fire power. The manager has targeted Federico Macheda on a short 3 month loan deal. Fans will certainly hope the manager can pull of this great coup.

Injury Update - There has been no new injuries to report from the club this month

Monthly Summary
The month had some good and some bad performances in it. The team seemed to be distracted by the trip to the stadium of light and didn't start performing until after this tie was over. We did the club and the fans proud at Sunderland and we hope we ccan push the club forward so them type of fixtures more often. Out of the 6 fixtures we managed 2 wins 2 draws and 2 defeats. We also were not helped by the fact by Rhodes and Smithies being called up to the England under20 squad which meant they missed 2 weeks. We are currently sitting in 10th place in league 1 and into the 2nd round of the JPT. I hope we can pick up more points in the next month and push into a play off spot.

I have added screen shots of the league, the squad and the game against Sunderland

October Update

Breaking News

After Sir Alex accepting the loan bid from Huddersfield for Federico Macheda the rising star has decided to reject the opportunity stating he thinks he would learn more at Old Trafford. Huddersfield Manager quickly changed his target an snapped up highly rate Newcastle striker Nile Ranger. Huddersfield are delighted with the deal as they where short on personal up front after Jose Baxter returned to Everton. It is hoped Ranger can provide some goals while he is at the club. The deal is only a short 3 month loan with the possibility of an extension.

October Update

The club has a six fixtures this month with 5 being in League 1 and the other in the JPT Quarter Final.

Colchester 2 Huddersfield 0 Platt, O'Toole (League 1)

It was a very poor performance by us and we continue to struggle away from home. Colchester controlled the game and deserved to get the 3 points. We will have to change the tactics for the next away game in order to start picking up some points on the road Huddersield Best - Alberto Libertazzi

Bradford 0 Huddersfield 1 Libertazzi (JPT 2nd round)

We played well enough to win the game without pushing ourselves to much. We got of to a great start with a screamer from the young Italian and from this point we where near going to lose the game. Although we didn't add another goal we created some good chances and defended well. We where also giving a home tie against Bury in the next round MOM - James Berret

Huddersfield 2 Exeter 0 Kabous. Novak (League 1)

We played some great football in this match and Exeter could not come to grips with the tempo we where playing at and the score line could have been more comfortable but we will take the 3 points and move on to the next game in confidence with a solid result and a clean sheet. MOM - James Berret

Charlton 3 Huddersfield 0 McKenzie (2) Bailey (League 1)

Another woeful performance on the road again from the team and after some harsh.words after the match we think we have got to the problem of the away day hoodoo. Although we where bad credit must go to Charlton who at times played outstanding and are must certainly going to be their or their abouts at the end of the season. We need a good couple of days training as we have a vital away game to MK Dons on Wednesday Night. Huddersield Best - Ritchie De Laet

MK Dons 0 Huddersfield 1 Randell (og) (League 1)

The switch of tactics worked a treat as we went more defensive and ridged and played on the break. We looked like a good side in an evenly balanced first 10 minutes before we got the break through around 13 minutes. After the goal we mostly tried to contain although we did create more chances than them in the 2nd half. We managed to hold on for the clubs first away win in the league since the 8th August. I hope we can continue to play like that away from home an we will start picking up a lot more away wins.MOM - Peer Clarke

0,,10312~3752612,00.jpg

Huddersfield 0 Leyton Orient 0 (League 1)

This was the teams first goalless draw the team has had this season. Although if we had put away 1 of the 20 chances we had we could have taken a value 2 more points. We controlled the game and just could not get the break through and wasted some every good chances. I told the team after the match that this performance was not acceptable and that we would have to become a lot more clinical with our chances Huddersield Best - Ritchie De Laet

Player of the Month - Ritchie De Laet - The on loan defender has been particularly impressive with his defensive displays this month. De Laet has been an inspired loan signing since joining in the summer and the manager has stated he is delighted with the form he is showing an hopes he can keep it up

_46161711_richie_de-laet_get766.jpg

Injury Update - Alberto Libertazzi was ruled out for 5 weeks with month after a back strain and Robbie Simpson has been ruled out for two months with knee ligament strain,

Monthly Summary

The month of October threw up some very tricky fixtures for the terriers but we managed to come out of it with 3 victories 1 draw and 2 defeats out of 6 games. We had vary hard away fixtures with Charlton an Colchester but i think the team has found a formation that suits away from home as evidence with the MK dons results. The English Youth Squads men are back and we are looking forward to the run of games that take us into Christmas period so we are well positioned for a promotion push. The club are currently siting on 8th place which is up two places from last month so progression was made.

I have again added some screen shots:
