Yesterday it emerged that Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley has approached former England international Josh Rowles about the vacancy at Newcastle. It is believed Rowles has signed a contract until June 2011 whilst he will be earning £3,100 a week.
When asked how Rowles felt about getting the job he answered "It's a dream come true to become a manager of such a great club. I grew up a Liverpool fan and saw the glory years of Newcastle United, and I believe i'm the man to bring back the glory years."
Given a transfer kitty of £0 due to the clubs current financial state it is believed Rowles will NOT be making a giant amount of signings.

It'll get more people following.

EDIT: and Stuart, you read me like a book. (A)

Yeah I know, some storys are just annoying where people are just posting up pictures of there matches and going "it waz a close 1 though!!" i'll be posting up a few pictures of matches and my transfers but not 1000 :)

After four games of pre-season matches manager Rowles was pleased with the performances from his men. "I am very happy with the performances from my men in these four matches, the new signings seem to be gelling in very well with the rest of the bunch."

Asked about how he thought his players had done Rowles replied "In pre season Jonas has been a key figure. He's simply magic on the left side of the field. Of course the rest of the lads deserve credit but Jonas has been my man of the pre-season."

THE TRANSFERS.

Many people criticised Rowles' judgement of going for Campbell, a man who the media believe is "past it." "Campbell may have been a suprise for many people, but I believe he will do a perfect job in defence."

I'm going to be doing monthly updates people.

The League Cup 3rd round draw.

Today former Newcastle captain and boss Alan Shearer is going to tell you the matches for the third round!

I can now confirm that number 34 WIGAN ATHLETIC will play number 23 NEWCASTLE UNITED at the DW Stadium.

When asked Newcastle boss Rowles had this to say: "This will be a very hard match for my men, but I believe if we have confidence going into it we will come away with a victory!"
