This isn't intended to be a story thread, just wanted to see if people genuinely think there is any chance of the club retaining Premier League status.

Wanting a challenge, I have decided to edit the database and create a new game as manager of Liverpool. Working on the premise that the takeover at the club from NESV happened and then Gilett & Hicks succeeded in legal action against the club.

Key Points

1, The judge ruled that H & G should be paid £239,000,000, this is now in place as a CVA in club debt.
2, To service this debt, a fire sale took place in the summer with all senior players being sold and key staff members including Roy Hodgson fired.
3, I put the club immediately £71,000,000 in the red but kept current contracted sponsorship.
4, Transfer and wage budgets reset to see what I was given which was naturally £0 on the transfer front and only £22,000 for wages, with £93,000 being already spent on the youngsters!
5, Reduced potential season ticket sales to 14,000 for the season.

Bascially, the club is on its ****.

Naturally, club expectations are to attempt to avoid relegation and despite being a "Sunday League Footballer", no messages at the start saying that the club is too big for me.

First friendly was a 2-1 home defeat to Fulham reserves in front of 7506. I cannot sign anyone, and staff limitations are at the bare minimum. Here is the probable first team line up for the season due to Shelvey picking up a bad injury.

Pacheco Simon

Ince Spearing Suso Toni Silva

Robinson Wilson Kelly Darby

Gulacsi

Anyone think there is absolutely any chance of staying up or are you like me, expecting impending doom and a sacking before christmas. :P

Also forgot to mention how the vultures come circling. Pacheco is arguably now one of the prime assets at the club so Chelsea decided to make a bid of...............£0.

that sounds like a pretty tough challenge. I will be interested to hear how people like yourself get on

Mate, the only way is down im afraid, nt unles you can sign a couple more players on loan without contributing wages!

I agree mate, although we did just get a decent 2-2 draw away to Siauliai in the Uefa 3rd Round Quali 1st Leg.

However, once the CVA just came active, I now have two messages I have never seen before.

"Liverpool in Financial Crisis"

Receivers have been brought in to deal with the financial problems at Liverpool.

All transfer funding has been withdrawn and the receivers have indicated that they will consider any reasonable transfer offers which are made for the clubs players.

"PFA place transfer embargo upon Liverpool"

The PFA have paid this months wages, however they have also placed an embargo upon any transfers involving this club until the money is repaid.

It's all got a bit interesting.

Darandio - Are you an Everton fan to want such caos at our beloved club? lol. Looks very interesting but i have a hard enough time managing Liverpool without all the stipulations you have mentioned!

Good Luck

Not at all, Liverpool fan here, just wanted to see how it went. However, its impossible, at least in the format that I did it by releasing "all" senior players. Probably the only chance to do it would be to keep all finances the same, maybe adjust the wage budget a bit and keep a small handful first team players but get rid of the "stars". Maybe keep people like Soto, Lucas, N'gog etc,

I think you have picked a very hard way to do it. I think you're right in keeping some first teamers but getting rid of the stars. If i was you i would be getting rid of:
Reina, Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Carragher, Aurelio, Cole, Kuyt, Merieles, Gerrard, Maxi, Babel, Jovanovic, Torres. This will leave you with the likes of Jones, Gulacsi, Konchesky, Pacheco, Soto, Lucas, Wilson, Spearing, Poulsen, Darby, Shelvey, Kelly, Eccleston, Bruna. I think this gives a realistic picture on who would stay and who would go.

To be honest, if this did happen I think Carragher would sooner drop down to a salary of £1,000 per week rather than leave Liverpool.

I disagree, i think he would move on. There was an interview with Cara a couple of seasons ago and he was asked if Liverpool were relegated would you stay at the club. He said probably not as he believed that he was too good of a player for the Championship. He also said that he would move clubs without a problem if Liverpool said they didnt want him. I think he has been a fantastic servant to the club and i honestly believe he will be manager one day but i dont think he would stay if this situation occured.
He is at the stage in his career where he may accept a job as Assistant Manager.

Out of those, the only ones I didn't still have were Konchesky, Soto, Lucas and Poulsen. I still think even that would be too difficult, especially if you keep the finances the same and the receivers appear, taking 9 points and selling from underneath you. :D

for starters play bruna instead of ince, or swap formations to play the better youngsters! kohlert, adorjan, emilson are all decent.

i dont think youll get anywhere near 35-40 points though unfortunately. but good luck!

That is one crazy challenge, but I recon I can stay up :P
