The "What If..." Simulation Thread

This is a thread to simulate all those "what if.." questions to give us some indication of what may have happened if we could change the course of history. An example of a "what if..." question would be, "What if Bale stayed at Spurs (and they did not sign the players as a result)?" or "What if Wayne Rooney had joined Chelsea?"

I will be creating a database for each "what if..." question, and them simulating three seasons, and writing up a mini story about what happens.

I am looking for you to suggest some "what if..." questions for me to simulate. I do ask though, that they are based on real events (not like, what if Messi joined West Ham...). Also, with the January coming up, i wont mind doing what if player x joined team x, as long as there is solid rumors.

So my first simulator will be, what if Wayne Rooney joined Chelsea.

If you didn't know Crisitano Ronaldo was originally going to sign for Arsenal he had a shirt number designated and everything but Carlos Quieroz Fergies number 2 at the time knew ronaldo from his time at Sporting CP and convinced him to join United.

What if Ronaldo joined Arsenal?

Also when Arsenal signed Cesc we had a deal agreed for messi also but he didn't want to move from Spain where he had already settled.

What if Messi joined Arsenal?

Its the end of the first season, and one that was fairly disappointing for both Rooney and Chelsea. Rooney made 28 appearances including 5 as a substitute in all competitions, and scored just 9 goals. He did get one of his goals against former club Manchester United, and his best game was against Swansea when he got 2 goals.

Chelsea did not win any silverware this season, finishing 3rd in the league. They also were dumped to a shock early exit in the FA cup, losing against Crewe in the 3rd round. They also lost on penalties to Bayern in the Super Cup, were dumped out of the Capital One Cup 4th round against Newcastle and lost to Barcelona in the quarter final of the Champions League.

Both Rooney and Chelsea will be hoping for a better season next time around.​

It was a much better season all around for both Rooney and Chelsea. They won both the Premiership and the FA Cup final. Rooney this time made 33 appearances, making 19 appearances. He beat his overall goals from last season, scoring 4 more goals than last year, getting 13 in total. His best game came against Swansea when he scored a hat-trick.

Chelsea only just managed to win the Premiership, finishing on level points with Manchester City, and only winning because they conceded far less goals. Chelsea also won the FA Cup final, with Rooney playing a massive part in the game, scoring the winning goal.

Once again they were knocked out by Barcelona in the Champions League, this time in the semi-finals. They were also knocked out of the Capital One Cup semi-final by Tottenham.​

Wayne Rooney was released by Chelsea on a free transfer and snapped up by Tottenham. By his standards though, he had a poor season. He only made 17 appearances, including 2 as a substitute in all competitions. He only managed to get 3 goals in all competitions. He was also disappointed to pick up an injury in late January which kept him out for the remainder of the season.

What if Sven Goran Eriksson had taken over from Fergie...
 
What if United get Baines and Sneijder but sell Van Persie to Barcelona (as I read he was linked with before his recent injury)
 
What if United get Koke? They're planning to bid for him anyhow, so it could be used as comparision.

What if Neymar joined Madrid instead of Barca? (Of course Bale would have stayed at Tottenham and Ozil would'nt be sold)
 
What if Messi, after this season of course, joined Manchester City? Before you scoff at me I don't think it'll happen ever but the rumours of Messi being unsettled, Aguero and Toure asking him to join and Zabaleta saying he often asks about how City are doing, I'd like to just wonder how he'd fit in/we'd build around him and if that would tilt the league for Blue Domination.

Very very doubtful but I'd like to dream :)
