Hi, I used to buy the latest championship manager every year. I loved it and thought no management game could match it. When I was introduced to Football Manager, in 2007, i liked the change but it was too slow on my old computer. When i got a laptop, i immediately bought Football manager 2009. Ever since i have realised how ridiculosly easy Championship manager could be and this was the main reason for the change. for example, I started one with Newcastle on championship manager 2008, i swapped owen with van nistelrooy, and had a strike force of Adriano and Van nistelrooy in my first season. I signed Alonso and more fantastic players like McGeady with a budget of £50m (no cheat). Selling unwanted players is very easy on Championship manager, so i soon got a budget around £70m. In my first season, i won the premiership by 24 points, won the FA cup and league cup, beatin man utd 3-0 in the fa cup final. My point was further proved when a friend told me he won the league with aston villa in the first season. This was with a budget of £18m. On CM, you can sign about 15 players, get rid of 10 and you will have no problems with the team gelling togeter. Football manager is a lot more realistic as it is hard for your players to gel, and you cannot win everything in your first season without being a brilliant team. So my question, what made everyone choose FM rather than CM?

more realistic and when i bought cm (07) i think it jst didnt feel right,

It just isn't up to the same standard to Football manager

Simply put, Football Manager is the old Champo but with a change of name. SI who are the brains behind the game parted company with Eidos who published the game but eidos have the rights to the champo name so SI teamed up with Sega and re named the game Football Manager.

I actually still play both of them, I know about the arguement but I have always played the Champ Man games and always will. The same for FM, I like CM because it allows you more variety in terms of tactics and is more technical. I like FM because it is realistic and furthermore just a better game but I wouldn't stop buying one of them. I like them both.

football manager is simply better

just my hamahci network for fm09 thanks it pembo3000 no pw hope to play u soon

fm 09 may be better but watch out for championship manager 2010 match is a lot better than fm 09

The only good Championship Manager is 2001/02 and all of the Fm series are brilliant

i used to think cm was more fun due to the simpler play and more money but fm ticks all the boxes

championship manager 2010 looks pretty good seen it in 442 but i still think fm will be better

When they decided to change CM to only 1 player it ruined it. Apart from that I can't see much difference, apart from FM is backed by a big company like SEGA so it's in a lot of shops, don't think I've ever seen CM 09.. If it's even been made :S

Although CM03/04 was the best Football manager game ever.

Football Manager took the best Parts from the old CM & made it great, but ther are still somethings that FM hasnt grasped,

1) Injurys are slightly unrealsitc at times

2) Club Repuations Need to be Re-done because i hardley think a team who just won promption from the Unibond League (Gateshead) are nearly twice as big as a club who have had severl famous cup runs & famous players down the years, not to mention the league sucsees & History (Blyth Spartans)

3)In real life, sometimes the crazyest things DO HAPPEN !, but on FM its lik it has no sense of humor, because sometimes it makes it a little bit to realistic & needs to have a more fun in the game, because thats what it is but at the end of the day, i do respect the reallism of the game compared to CM

4) Lower League's, BSP,BSN,BSS dont have an awfull lot of deatil in them , i great appriaction for FM to so much as include these leagues in the game but however, more should be done about the realism of lower league football as in contact the clubs directly, look at clubs pre-season & expextions for the season etc etc, & talk to the fans who play FM & have a support a Lower League Club :)

When I chose FM or CM I read what part of the game was property to what side and I decided based on that. For me that info told me FM was the branch that truly continued the CM and CM was just the different game with same name.
