this is crazy damiao just cant score

im inter first season and play 4-2-3-1 and damiao is now 9 hours without a goal

what am i doing wrong? is it his player instruction or is my team instruction not good enough for the striker?

not being rude but dont suggest me playing him as a target man as i hate target mans lol

but yeah any ideas how i can get him to scoring??

try giving him some reserve games to get him some better chances to score?? works for me sometimes!!

to be honest it'll probably be the age old story of him settling in to a new country. Give him at least a year to fully prove himself.

i had the exact same problem with him went on amazing mazey runs and dribbles round about 4/5 players then shot well over or well wide

Haven't sign him but from what ppl said he's a great striker with pace and physical. His instructions is right already but try to untick 'roaming' so he'll stay ufront rather than dropping deep or move wide because of the roaming instructions. There are 2 reasons why he is not scoring, it's either he miss lots of chances or he don't get much chance. If it's the latter I think you don't set the wingers and/or amc right, so maybe you could post it here

Adjusting instructions aside, i think this is another aspect of FM's realism. Just like IRL, sometimes striker will have a mental block.

I mean, look at Torres in Chelsea. Guy has proven time and time again to be one of 4-5 most fearsome strikers on the planet, yet he keeps playing like ****. And sure, their style might not suit him perfectly, but he's still the same player , with almost complete skillset for his position.

For an ingame example , when managing big teams i almost always end up buying Aguero - he is relatively cheap compared to amazing skills and age that gives him at least 10 years of career ahead. I always play him as Poacher , he usually goes 35-40 goals in the season, i propably accumulated at least 25 seasons like this with him in this version of FM. But i had him go 10-15 hours without a goal before.
