The basic idea behind this was to play compact and hassle when defending, and play wider and deeper when attacking. This space allows players to do through balls, roam and run both with and without the ball, which increases the chances of scoring, although you risk losing the ball. We mainly do very low tempo and pass through defence using through balls, but we also counter quickly when there is opportunity to do so.
