The trouble was, how do I tell Pep about the offer given to me? It was a great oppourtunity for myself. Finally an offer so that i could manage a team rather than be an assitant. I picked up my Blackberry, scrolled down to the contact that said 'Pep Guardiola'.

I starred at it. I clicked 'Call'.

'Tito, Hola!'

'Pep, we must talk.'

'Of course, what is it?'

'I've had an offer from another club.'

'Another club? Who?'

'Zaragoza. They want me to manage them this year.'

We spoke for an hour, maybe longer. We came to the conclusion that moving to Zaragoza was a great chance for me to show what I could do. I got onto the phone to Agapito Iglesias, the Zaragoza Chairman, and told him the good news.

We agreed a budget for myself of around £5.75million. I already had they player in mind that i wanted to sign, Jordi Alba of Valencia. Having watch him emerge from the Barcelona youth system i was all but aware of the kid's talents. A pacy left sided winger with great dribbling and technique. I knew i had to have him and got on the phone to Valencia as soon as I could to strike up any sort of deal, loan or permanent.

I took to the training ground in search of Javier Arizmendi. I was to deliver him some news.

'Javier, Sevilla and At.Madrid have expressed a desire to sign you and both tabled bids we are prepared to accept, would you like the oppourtunity to speak to them?'

'Sí, Gracias.'

3 days later and we parted company with Javier. He joined Sevilla for £2million, releasing £28,000 of our wage budget that had been spent on him.

Times moved on though. I continued with life as manager of Zaragoza.

Footnotes : This story is written in the point of view of my Tito Vilanova. It is of course not the assistant of Barcelona. Please leave comments and suggestions they are always welcome.

That's better :) Love the Spanish leagues and to be fair, your writing is better than most on the forum (bar a select few - Kris, Aannddyy etc) so I shall check back from time to time.

'Nayim, get Marco's agent on the phone. Now!'

I was in a frenzy. I had been informed that the chance to snap up Marco Borriello had arisen. A proven goal scorer and very, very good striker. Exactly what i needed to partner my on loan striker Adrian Colunga.

'They want £6million for him, do you even have that kind of money?' Alessandro remarked.

I instantly disliked Marco's agent. We did have £6million. After the sale of Arizmendi and the current budget i had in place i now had around £7million. We got onto AC Milan who informed us they had already accpeted a bid from PSG, but only on loan. We tabled our £6million and got into talks with Marco ASAP.

'I'll make it simple for you here Tito, you want Marco alot i can tell. Marco thinks your going places. £86,000 a week.'

'Alessandro, I would like to speak to Marco in person and in private. Not with you trying to scrape and extra bit of cash for yourself.'

Marco was a far nicer man than his agent. After a friendly chat without relations to anything serious Marco came out with this;

'Tito, your newly promoted. Nobody's expecting anything big from you this year. I want to help you chance that perception. I ask for £64,000 a week.'

I extended my hand and nodded in absoloute gratitude to this man. I had made my first signing. Marco Borriello. Could he go down in history as one of the greatest Zaragoza players? I'm getting carried away. He's just signed. But with such a hefty transfer fee I expected results. Not just me though, the fans too.

Marco Borriello

The season had finally arrived for me. I was excitied and nervous. This was a big deal for me as this was my first managerial job and i needed to impress. We travelled to Sporting in hope of a win. I had completed the loan signing recently of Mahamadou Diarra. I knew this man was a gem. A midfield general. I brought him in to play the 'Makalele' role if you like. I quickly added him to the squad. But with the departure of Francisco Pavon to Mallorca I was more than aware that a central defender replacement was needed.

Sebastian Fernandez.

29 years old. Velez central defender.

At £1.9million i considered this as a coup for the club. He also went into the squad.

We began to game slowly with not many chances. Marco Borriello picks up a knock but is 'Ok' to play on. 33rd minute and he rattles the crossbar with a header. Still 0-0. Half time arrives and its remains even. I go to Marco.

'How are you?'

'Boss, I need to come off, i don't want to risk it'

'Ok, get the medical staff to check you out right now'

The team head out onto the pitch with Uche on for Marco. The bright yellow away kits shining brightly under the flood lights kick off the second half. I walk out after missing the first 10 minutes of the second half. My physio had just informed me that Marco would miss up to 2-3 weeks. Nightmare start to the season. I take my place in the dugout and watch over a dull second half. I bring on Jermaine Pennant and Jorge Lopez in an attempt to try and create some sparks. Uche rattles the post. Denied by the woodwork.

The moment that followed I tend to call crual. the 88 minute, Mate Bilic scores. I throw my water bottle to the ground in frustration, and in disgust. Not the start I had in mind for my team.

Humberto Suazo, he's through, GOAL!

I leap from the dugout before the second cruel moment, the referee's whistle. I turn to observe the linesman. His flag was raised.

A sigh of relief is breathed from the Sporting fans. Shouts of anger are expressed by myself.

The game finishes 1-0 to Sporting. Dissappointed a tell the players exactly how i felt.

'That performance makes you all an embarresment!'

Overly harsh. The lads put in a good effort. It was just not going to be our day. It was a long, quiet trip home on the coach. The Zaragoza boys knew that there next game needed 3 points to be taking from it. An international break allowed them to ponder over this result and quikly move on in training and improve against Tenerife away in our next game.

Ah, I was hoping that Tito Jackson had just bought himself a football club! Oh well!

Good luck Toddzy :)

'Who?'

'Neymar'

'I heard you the first time, but who is he?'

'A young Brazilian wonderkid playing for Santos. We have tapes for you.'

I took the tapes from Jesús' hand.

'He better be good.'

I was amazed. The lad was a tender age of 17 and was literally grabbing control of games. His ability on and off the ball amazed me. I agreed with Jesús that the kid must be looked into.

It was a few weeks since first looking into Neymar that we finally reached an agreement with Santos. He would play in Brazil for another year until he turned 18. Then on the 1st July 2010 he would sign for Los Blanquillos. The fee was estimated at around £18.75million.

Delighted, I left the office. It was something that I could look forward too. Fans chants of 'There's only one Neymar!' had already began in my head. The lad would be a sensation.

Yes, I always enjoy reading stories of teams that I don't know much about, but unfortunately they don't usually last long :( I hope you keep at it!

I will I'm looking forward to the challenge :)

I've been planning an update atm passed on trying to sign Zezinho, have you ever signed him?

Sunday morning, it was game day. I woke up after not sleeping very well pondering the thought of losing to Tenerife. I needed to get the lads up for it and I needed to get some sort outcome from the game. I picked up my blackberry and sent a group text to the players;

'Meet me at the training ground in 3 hours.'

It was 9.00am. I'd called on the players to meet me around 12.00pm. With the kick-off not till 10.00pm, we had plenty of time for travel. I got dressed in my Zaragoza tracksuit and headed to the training ground earlier than the players. To my surprise I was greeted by Alessandro, Marco Borriello's agent.

'Alessandro, how may I help you?' I extended a hand, which he accepted and shook.

'Tito its good to see you, but I'm here on business. I have a propasition for you, and only you.'

'Ok, you have me interested, go on...'

'I have came to propose a player to you, Zezinho, he play's for...'

'Leave now Alessandro, this is not right and I wish not to participate in your dealings.'

'Ahhh Tito, your a silly man. This won't be the last you hear of me or the deal my friend.'

Alessandro put on his sunglassess, smirked at me, and strolled off. I watched him as he went. Something told me that this wouldn't be the last I seen of Alessandro, or his dealings.

12.00pm and the players had arrived, all in gear. I was happy to see this and was proud of the togetherness of my squad.

I expressed to my team that we must get something from the game. An uproar came from the lads;

'C'monnnn!'

We headed to the coach and made our trip to Tenerife. We arrived at the stadium rearing to go, the lads were up for it.

'Do it for the Fans!' I said.

With no Borriello I started Uche with Humberto Suazo up top. Pennant also started in a hope of a little spark from the winger. I knew that he could be a key figure for my Zaragoza side if used effectivly.

9 minutes in and we go down 1-0 to a Nino goal.

'For f*** sake!' I shouted.

My rage was short lived. A nice one-two on the edge of the box between Uche and Suazo allows him a one-on-one, which he cooly slots home.

GOAL FOR ZARAGOZA!

But that was how it finished. A diarra header off the bar was the closet we came to scoring again. But I was happy with the lads and sympathised their efforts.

A tattooed Humberto Suazo celebrates his goal.
