Hi,

Since I've installed the newest patch (14.1.4) i conceed way more yellow and red cards then before.
I play with Anderlecht. I mostly conceed two yellow cards (=red card) but also direct red cards (sometimes even after 20 minutes and by players who aren't aggresive and have high self control)

What I tried so far:
-Turned off "hastle opponents" in team tactics
-Turned off "get stuck in" in player tactics (BWM)
-Turned off "tighter marking" in team tactics and player tactics (defenders)
-Taken over my oponnent game instructions, cause my assistant coach always selected tackling hard

None of this really helped. Most cards are taken by my BWM, my fullbacks and central defenders.
Instructions BWM: Shorter passing
Instructions FB: Cross more often, close down more
Instructions CB: Shorter passing

Pre game opponent instructions: sometimes tighter marking, often show onto weaker foot and closing down.

I think the problems are in the pre game opponent instruction, but it seems quiet harsh to me. Not being able to close down or tighter mark opponents really sucks!

I'll throw in some printscreens of my tactic en team statistics. Had the same problem the year before (since I installed newest patch). Thought it was because I had aggresive players (Cavanda, Zucullini, N'Sakala). Solled Zuculini for that reason but there isn't much improvement as you can see.

ease off tackles? maybe teach your players "not to dive into tackles" in the individual training.

"tighter marking" might be your problem here. Unless you've players with high decision and anticipation stats, an agile/skillfull player will put them under extreme pressure and force them to foul a lot.

Talk to the players in question and warn them about their conduct. Punish each red card with a 2 week fine and choose the critical options about yellow cards in press conferences....they should soon get the message ;)

I know, that's why I only use tighter marking on target men, not on fast, agile strikers or wingers.

In the media I allways use hte critical opinion. I mostly give a warning for first red card, one week fine for second and so one. But mostly when I use 2 week fine they get mad.

Wouldn't that make it easy for opponents. Because now I often conceed goals by crosses from wingers cause no one really "attacks" the winger, they just run with the ball and everybody stays of.

close down more use fullbacks/wingbcks in a defensive or supportive role, also if you use two central defenders, make one a stopper an the other as cover. That will bulk up your defense. Nothing you can really do about really fast wingers, other than by even faster fullbacks/wingbacks.. but failing that, what i suggested will reduce the damage.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I allready do most of them, but will try the other ones. ;)

My first game of the season, De Gea (my goalkeeper) got sent off after 4 mins. No highlight was shown and later found out it was due to a handball. never experienced something like this before.

Let them get mad! Show them who's boss. If they complain, give them a roasting in the private chat. Point out that you're in charge. Then when they do something good, have a private chat and praise them for it. They should soon start behaving.

Every red card gets a 2 week fine and a bollocking from me. Never had anyone get 2 in a season so far ;)

Try playing with a higher line. When this patch came out I was advised to ditch "Hassle Opponents" and instead to use a higher defensive line, which also instructs my defenders to engage with wingers sooner. It's a work-around, but it's worked decently for me so far. I was also advised to use "Play Offside Trap", and while I can't say for sure that it's caused more opposition offside calls, I can say that those two instructions together fixed my card problem, with minimal effect on my goals conceded.

i am playing with braunshcweig my left back got sent off after 3 minutes so i took a striker off to put another left back on who then got sent of after 20 mins new patch is crazy ive had 5 red cards in 3 games and my strikers refuse to score banging in goals pre season couldnt hit a barn door with a banjo as soon as season starts

I kind of fixed it I guess. Tweaked my tactic (higher defensive line, offside trap, stopped putting pressure), I stopped doing pre game opponent instructions and if they get a red card I talk with them about it. Third season 20 games and only had one red.
Still get many yellows, but I think it's just because of the type of players.

Thanks for the help everyone!

Defenders is alright, in my save Eden Hazard is getting straight reds for two footed tackles, the guy with 9 aggression and bravery and 4 tackling would do sliding tackle? Absurd!
