He's not been rushed back as far as I know, Defoe has always said that he has been a bit of a freak as he always heals far quicker then expected to and has been saying for weeks that he hopes to play in this game.

VDV is good enough to work a partnership with Defoe, they are both very clever players.

Would probably mean less goals for VDV but more goals for Defoe.
