Positions 1-4 Get Champions League with 4th needing to go through qualifying to reach group stages. Positions 5-7 qualify for Europa League. Carling Cup doesn't affect anything. So no, Tottenham didn't qualify for Europe this year

It is only the winner of the carling cup that gets a place in the Europa League. If the winner qualifies for either european team through league position, then the place goes to the 7th placed team in the league. Their is no runner-up place
