Touchline shouts & Manually setting tactical sliders ? Is there no effect during game

Basically I have my 4-5-1 tactic set up where I have manually set almost EVERY slider for each position on how I want them to play. Mentality, Passing Style, Crossing etc etc.

Everything is manually set and checked to ON.

Because I have done this, do my touchline shouts have ANY effect at all during a game?

E.g Assuming during the game you shout a change from Counter to Attack gameplay.
I assume what this does is in the background it changes many players passing styles from direct to being more short and changing their mentality sliders to be more attacking. If I have my DM currently manually set with a defensive mentality, will the slider and mentality change at all if I shout ATTACK! style from Counter?

I'm wondering though if because I've manually set them, does this have any effect at all?

If everything is ticked, it doesn't have any effect. Altough if you change strategy e.g from standard to attacking, also team instructions change. Attacking strategy has quicker tempo and less time wasting, not sure about width and defensive line, but I think it also makes wider width and higher defensive line.

So that's what I mean. If I have a CM whose set as an advanced playmaker and I manual tick his Mentality and Passing Style sliders and set them to FULL ATTACK Menality and FULL DIRECT passing, then changing strategy from STANDARD to CONTAIN will have zero effect on this said CM. His mentality will NOT change to defensive (as it should if changing from standard to contain strategy.)

Right?

Correct. If your tactic is that tweaked, it may as well be a classic tactic.

Correct. His mentality and passing will not change although other things that do change might still have an impact on the way he plays as he might perform differently with the high time wasting used in contain

Yeah it wont affect him, its best if using the new tactics system to have most sliders left as default with just the most important set manually.

Like I always manually lower most of my players long shots bar to rarely to prevent everyone blasting the ball for 90 mins... But I hardly ever change the tackling slider, that way we can hold off or go in hard with a shout.
