Has anyone done this before? I have Lewandowski as a T or AF but he's getting older and I was thinking of purchasing another young IF to take up Draxlers place.. He's Greek and is very very good for being 16/17. Also, it would save money which I've been trying my upmost to do even though I'm Man Utd..

Draxler has had 16/17 assists already and it's been 30 games as an IF so this had led me to believe it could be done..

Any of the regulars or people who like to retrain for other positions give me any advice. What attributes would he need to have just now that would help him be more successful..

Thanks on advance for any help.

A deep lying forward needs Creativity Finishing Passing Flair Dribbling Long shots Technique IMO
Advanced Forward Finishing Composure Dribbling Acceleration Pace Strength Crossing Passing Long Shots IMO

Draxler could be an Advanced forward

So it could be done? I might try it and at him there every few games or even through pre season..

I like to use the players I have in my squads more so the ones who have decent attributes such as ive used cesc as DLF or False 9 as hes got the stats for it and hes quite good as long as hes alongside someone who is going to score another one is Walcott I know hes partly a ST on the game hes more of a winger, ive made him a top Poacher on the last one with 20 finishing and 20 composure after 5 years but I had top shooting coaches well 5* coaches in everything which helps

Be careful the preferred moves of the player doesn't clash with either the team tactic or individual player tactics for those around him. It will just cause certain areas of the pitch to be too congested or players will be out of position.

5* coaching in all categories?! Could you please post a SS?

I too am thinking of re-training a CAM to a False 9.

Would it be advised if that player has the stats, but NO familiarity in the ST position? Would the time taken to train the position seriously diminish the players PA?

I'm Man Utd and have every category either 4/4.5 or 5 so I'm thinking it could be done. I'll try a preferred move such as dribble through middle or something like that. I'll defo give it a try. He's a phenomenon in my team so lee season seems like the best time.

If he drops stats does that mean it's not working or that he's just getting used to the new training routine?

I highly doubt his stats will drop if he's getting training and playing time, but I think you might see a drop in his PA (star-rating) because as you increase his positional versatility, it should be taking away from his PA in his natural positions.

this was on fm13 but not really had the same success with a player yet!! but I always like 5* coaches in across the board and this year I cannot find an attacking coach of 5*

DLF or Trequartista.

Stats always drop when you train a player to a new position, but at most -1, that's why I don't recommend retraining a player older than 25, before that they'll once drop stats then start increasing.

Well why don't you get two top attacking patches in to make in 5star. That's what I do...
