I keep getting messages saying that tonnes of my players are unhappy with the amount/quality of specific training ie finishing. Does anyone know an easy way to solve this?

Depends on what they are complaining on. Check how heavy their training regime is. If they are complaining for example that they are not doing enough match preparation then increase the match preparation on the sliding bar. If it is that they do not think the individual training they are on is effective then you have the option of cancelling it or not. Some players don't like training so they will just generally complain

I currently have a core group of my young players, all potential first team players constantly complaining about the high work load. I am in a mind to ignore the little ***** as I want them to learn to work hard so that if they do make it into my first team squad in the future they are willing to buy into the high work ethic I want from my players.

Is this right or should I lessen the work load for them?

I do pretty much the same as you. You have to watch out for burnout though. I haven't yet had a young player majorly kick up a fuss over it.
