Ive been trying to retrain one of my young wingers as a complete wingback. But for that he needs better positioning and tackling. Both is currently at 5 and 6.
He has plenty of potential left but his attributes are incresing fast. Tho hes only gaining useless attributes and the ones Ive set him to train is just a flat line. Been training his positioning for 5 months and no movement what so ever.

My team training is set to balanced and I usually only run teamwork and attacking movement as match training. Do I have to run defensive positioning as match training for players positioning to increse?

Only time I realy notice specific attributes increse is when I run fitness on very heavy and have everyone set to train physical attributes.

Anyone had any luck molding your players to what you want them to be?

That doesn't seem to happen that much to me. You'll have to remember though, that position specific attributes increase more with them playing in that position. So, the more your young winger plays as a wing-back, the more he'll develop. But 5 months with no attribute increasing is rather weird. What is his Determination?

His determination is 18 so no problem there. He currently only playing as a sub. Used him as a starter for 4 easy games so far, only plays as lwb. Tho since he is gaining attributes fast the amount of games cant be the problem either.

Id say he has developed about 60% of his max potential. With positioning at 5 this attribute should skyrocket when trained and definately not be flatlined.

Ignore determination when looking at training.

Try switching his training to something else for a few months then go back to positioning, it's worked for me before when trying to improve young players, that's why I tend to rotate what I'm learning them every 3-4 months.
