Greetings, i just got a question about this "Role training" thing.

I just bought Libor Kozak (my favourite player) from Fiorentina costing me just 2.5 millions (playing Celtic).
I want him up top with either Quintero/Destro (playing them as poachers and want Kozak to provide them with a few high balls since he got 20 heading and awesome stats), if i set him to train as a target man is he training especially on those stats or is he just like "starting to think" as a target man?

Every response is welcome! (K)

Training a specific role only means that he will focus on traning the stats important for that role. It will have no effect on how familiar he will be in that role, or learn him to think as one. Its all about those highlighted stats

@The BetterHalf
wanted to know the same thing as well, So If i train Nick Powell to be a Advanced Playmaker, he will improve all his stats concerned withe Advanced Playmaker Role? , or another one, If i train Angelo Henriquez to be a Poacher that means he will increase his Stats for Poacher Role....Is that Right?

They will train that little bit extra on those stats that are highlighted for role" X". If they improve or not, thats a different thing ;D

My Favourite way to form a player that is young si like this.

Lets say he has the stats of a poacher...and I want him to be able to play in the role of a complete FC on support or Advanced FC in the future...then I actually train him as a......Trequartista :D If he is a TQ that I want to to be able to play more like a Complete FC,,,,then I use "Defensive FC" training

A player that has the stats of an anchorman and I want him to be a Central MC/support..then I train him like an Advanced playmaker.

To get a player from one end of the roles to be more complete, I always put him on training in the "other end" if you see what I mean.

ahh alright that sounds like a very nice idea mate, will try that one out.

also have something abt tactics to ask, If i set a narrow 4-2-3-1 with all players on passing as 0 and tempo at 15 with creative freedom being expressive using a Control strategy, what do you think of that tactic....will it work

It would depend highly on the players but it would need the fullbacks to bomb forward AND for some players to make movements from deep.

If not knowing what the sliders mean, I would not go about messing with them too much though.

Also, have a look here what Creative freedom actually does

"Look at Creative freedom this way:

Creative Freedom = A way to boost or tone down their Tendency to do the unexpected, break the pattern, solve a problem in a creative maner, in short their FLAIR

FLAIR = This is not a skill, but a tendency. A player with high Flair will try to do the unexpected more often, break the pattern. This does not mean that he will actually be able to do somethin good.

SKILLS TO PULL IT OFF = Creativity ( What options he sees), Technique ( What actually CAN do), Decision ( What he choses), Passing/Crosing/Shooting etc ( the accuracy of what he is doing)

This means that a player with LOW Flair ( his tendency to actually try it) that have good SKILLS should be encurraged to try it more, hence giving him MORE Creative Freedom. A player ( like Nani at Man U) with 20 in FLAIR but with only 11 i Decision Should perhaps be given a Lower Creative Freedom to tone things down a bit"

thanks for the detailed explanation, the 2 Cm's are set to Defend with both the Wide att mids being IF and AP being played by Kagawa. so what should be the ideal role for Striker? Poacher ( Hernandez) or Complete Forward (Rooney,RvP)?

struggling a bit to get the through balls going from the Att Mids to Stk, with all the Att Mids set to Often for Through Balls, is that a Match Engine problem or my tactics one?

Its all about the AMC and FC combo. If you use a player like Rooney/RVP that likes to come deep and get the ball, the AMCs needs to get forward and stretch the defence...Or the other way around, using an Advanced FC/POacher ( not RVP or Rooney) and a TQ in the AMC position ( Rooney or RVP)

so to get My AMC forward his role should be AP Attack? i currently have AP support wid a Click less than attacking as his mentality and 15 as Creative Freedom. Stk is Advanced Forward with 17 mentality and 5 creative freedom, Both really seem to be completely apart from each other on the pitch, any suggestions to improve the Co ordination?

Think players rather than the clicks on some sliders. Use some players that likes to move into channels, some that likes to come deep etc.
