is there a update with all latest transfer from january on

There will be, but at least wait until the transfer window has closed !!!

patience.

there will be an offical SI update out this month which wil patch the game, include the Jan transfer window and maybe tweak player attributes.

have si given a release date for this?

Is it? I dont really keep up with the FM section on the SI forums, do you have a source?

No official word yet, just lots of speculation it will be Valentine's Day again.

Just a quick question, I'm presuming a new game won't be necessary with the patch? How was it with 2008 patchwise - any problems with ongoing games and the patches? Would be a real pita to start again. Hate doing that.

You wont have to start again although im waiting so I can start a new game with updated transfers

the game ull update its self if installed with stream mine did b4 and surly u will have to start again cos ill b mad if keane gone hes my top scorer

if u installed fm09 with stream it ull update itself. but what im saving is if i load up my liverpool game and keanes gone ill be mad hes my top scorer. i think ull have to start a new game for the updates to kick in

Yeh for the data update to kick in youll have to start a new game so the data in your save games in unaffected. However the changes to the match engine etc that the patch should hopefully bring will affect your save games so you wont have to start again to get the benefits on the fixes just the data update

Latest from Paul Collyer at SI is:

As a quick update, 9.3 includes plenty of fixes and tweaks but is still at beta stage, and the code hasn't been locked yet. Once that happens it will be at least 1 week before its released, so you should probably assume it will arrive sometime in the second half of this month if things go smoothly testing wise.

Problem is though, in '08, it added the World Club Championship.. But becuase I was halfway through the '09-'10 season when it came out, I couldn't play it until I started a new game again. Is this gonna be the same?

I dont see why so many people ask the question if the data update will affect your save. Of course it wont, do you really think if your in 2095 that gettting the new update will mean on your save Robbie keane will be at Spurs. So to get the data changes you will need to start a new games to get fixes, general changes etc you wont need to start a new game.

Do you not think it would be better if you started a new game and the transfers which happened in January actually happened in January in the game?

I'd enjoy that more to be honest, but it would have all kinds of nasty side effects such as players not playing well for their current team etc. My main concern was any funky side effects from patching onto an ongoing game given how many bugs are 'believed' to be due to be fixed. But if it's not been a problem recently, then I'm happy to wait before playing on with my current game.

One thing which has leaped out while browsing the SI forums is just how much Arsenal will be hit with the 'realism' stick in 9.3. Most of their players have already gone down c.10% of CA in 9.2 and 9.3 will complete the job it seems. Thank goodness for that really.
