Tried to sign Vardy for my Tottenham side at the end of 2nd season.Leicester was asking 60m pounds.I was never going to accept such an offer. But I said yes just to see what Vardy was going to ask on his contract...180k pounds per week 10m sign on fee 40k per game 40k per goal and much much more.I decided to withdraw my offer. The season started I played Wattford (3rd game) and to my surprise I saw Vardy on their squad...Check his contract

And thats not the only thing that bothered me.Wattford signed him for 8.5m
Is that unfair or what???

Has anyone else experienced anything like that?Seems like the game makes it hard on trasfers for the human players

I've noticed this but it depends who you are. If you're a big club with cash to burn, then players are gunna want more money. For example, if you were a pro footballer and City came in for ya, you'd ask for more knowing they're rich than what you'd ask a team like Sunderland for.

In regards to the transfer fee, I suppose it depends on your save. I've just started pre season for the 2nd year and Vardy is transfer listed by request for £16mil.

Fair enough. You made a good point but what about the fact that he was not listed and Leicester only accepted a 60m offer from me and then he got transfered for 8.5m ONLY????

Perhaps he was upset by them rejecting your offer and demanded a transfer, so they listed him for much cheaper

They accepted a 60m offer. Did you negotiate to that or just make an offer? If a team doesn't really want to sell, they will always quote you a really high price. A way of saying "go away" without actually saying no. and like Patrick said, what happened after you made that offer would be rather telling.

Im a very hard negotiator when it comes to buy a player.Their first demands were reaching 80m in total.60m was the lowest offer they accepted.20m cash 30m in month installments and 10m bonuses.I also had him shortlisted so i was checking him on a regular basis. No unhappiness whatsoever.Never placed on the transfer list.Anyway it's not the first time that something like it happened to me.Many times throughout the years (since 99) I've seen teams with lower reputation signing players that I was interested in for much less money and much less wage, bonuses etc

Maybe they didn't want to sell to a rival and would rather him go to a weaker team?

This has always happened and it's one of the most annoying things of FM.

I've never had this problem. You've probably unsettled him, causing his transfer listing. Wage demands would obviously be higher due to a high club reputation. The higher the reputation, the higher the wage demands.
