I have been wanting to use a tactic with wingers and a true target man (good heading, jumping, strength, off the ball etc) for a while. But I have never worked out the best way to go about this tactic. Should it be counter attacking football? And also I'm not too sure which formation works best when using this tactic. I havent found one on here either, so please let me know if you know of one!

You need to look at your team and decide what formation suits your better players then you can get into the infrastructure of your tactical play, eg if all your players are determined and have high work rate, then a more disciplined and rigid style of play would suit you best. or if you have more flair and players with more teamwork and creativity then a more fluid expressive tactic would work best - thats a more dynamic method.

If you want to solely work around your Target Man then a 4-3-3/4-5-1/4-2-3-1 (these all variations of one tactic anyway) would probably work best, have your GK have good kicking and have him distribute to TM, have players play the ball down the wings and play direct and every player set to Target for Cross aim - thats a general and simple method.
