Tutoring help?

Why isn't my game letting Ivica Olic tutor my regen?
I pretty much signed him for that purpose, was on a free. I've bumped his squad status up to indispensable and my regen's down to backup, but still no option to tutor coming up.

Olic's personality is professional, the regen is fairly ambitious.
Olic's reputation is continental, my regen only national.

Help please?

Stupid questions perhaps, but have you pressed continue after changing their squad status ?

Make the youngster a "Hot Prospect". Sometimes it doesn't let him if the other player is considered a Senior player like a "backup" would be.

I dont know, but could it be that a player needs to have played in the club for a certain period of time before being able to tutor.

Is the rep of the players gulf really different
