Can anyone recommend a good two AMC 1 striker formation I can play around with?

I was thinking a 4-1(dm)-2 (SMFs)-2 (amc)-1. Wasn't sure if the lack of actual CMs would hurt, or should I push the DM up to CM?

Any other formation combinations you could suggest?

I sometimes play a 4-2-2-2 formation, with 2 MCs and 2AMCs. I play both MCs as ball winning midfielder, but sometimes put one of them, mainly the one with good decisions, creativity, passing & composure to deep lying playmaker. The 2AMCs i put as Trequartista or att mids.

That way the CMs will push back and there will always be one supporting the ball forward, and the 2 AMCs will drop into space :)

I thought of 2 cms, but the lack of width concerns me a little. Should I set the fullbacks to attacking or leave them at auto, or just set them as wingbacks?

I did at first too, but i set them as defend, zonal marking and the 'closing down' bar was a high 'own half' if that makes sense.

yeah that makes sense, but doesn't leave much width for attack, but I suppose with two ams you don't need the attacking width since it's up the middle.

Would you all suggests 3 cms or 2 cms with an anchor DM?

three CM's

I would use a deep lying playmaker on DM if playing short passing to link up play.
