So...
I'm playing Borussia Dortmund and im in the beginning of the year 2013.
After 3 seasons, that have been quite ok for me (Bundesliga positions 4th, 10th and 2nd + last season 3-2 against Bayern in the German cup final) it's not really running that good anymore.
I'm currently lying on 7th place in the bundesliga. I'm drawing or losing the easy games against weaker teams, my defense (Neven Subotic, Konstantin Rausch, Mats Hummels, Felipe Santana, Dimitri Daeseliere and Guy Demel) are dissappointing. Everything goes through them. (btw the tactics I use are the same ones as the last season that was quite successful - 2nd in the Bundesliga and won the German Cup).
All of my midfielders (Tamas Hajnal, Jakub Blaszkowsky, Nuri Sahin, Carlos Eduardo, Sebastian Kehl, Dejan Skolnik and Tom de Mul) seem to be running out of ideas. Passing has become horrible. And I have missed all 3 penalties this season that my team has got so far.
Strikers (Neymar, Kevin Grosskreuz, Lucas Barrios and Rafael Sobis) have the scoresheet statsistics that are the same as the ones for the full backs.
It's not completely rotten. Some of the big games have been quite fine. (1-0 against Lyon, 2-0 against Schalke, drawn 2-2 the first one against Bayern).

So what's going on? Has any of you had the same problem, that nothing is working out. Offensive side of the team is harmless and defense is pretty much absent. What should i do? The squad is beginning to voice concerns about team harmony and underachievement.

How to have a suberb season after a superb season?

teams aresetting up defensively against you. youneed to use control more, be patient and pick them off

Your definitely going too attacking, if you watch the best teams they probe it around and really annoy the opposition, try control or counter strategy

I have that same problem but mine is more from game to game, I can win 4-0 away against a good team and then get a 0-0 draw to a team in league 2

so, basically you are saying that i should play some other tactics?

yeah after a while the game works out a way to counter your tactics mate

To avoid this I usually play two different tactics.

My main tactic is a 4-5-1 and my secondary is a 4-2-3-1 the good thing about it I don't have to change the whole set-up but have more options up front.

I use the 4-5-1 formation against the stronger teams and those teams that have an attacking midfielder in their formation otherwise a 4-2-3-1 will get problems with the AM exploiting the space between my two central midfielders and my defence.

The 4-2-3-1 I play against the weaker teams that tend to play very defensively against me because this formation offers more options up front.

Using two formations I never had the problem of teams getting used to my tactics gelling is also not an issue because gelling between players is far more important then the gelling to a formation.

Another bonus is that half of my team still plays the same way they do in the other formation with no change to the way they are used to playing.
