if you fine someone for poor performance or w/e and they dnt agree and 'they cant let the matter drop' it then says they are alienated and blah blah. is there no way of getting them happy again?? on champ man 01/02 if u played them a few times they would forget it but on fm 11 it seems playing them week in week out, praising them in the press and watchin them on super hot form jus wont cut it ...

I had this with modric who was underperforming as my captain. I fined him after warning him and he didn't agree. I used him as a sub at half time, told him I expect a performance and once he got rating of 7+ told him he impressed me in the last match in private chat. After repeating it a few times he told the press he resolved his issue with me and Im now his favourite member of staff.

I dont know why youd fine a player for poor performance, they are not obv going to react well

so tht they get some discipline, they moan about lack of it otherwise after all. it wouldnt let me talk to him in private chat after 1 event but cheers anyway deadstar il try that next time if it allows it :)

Yea theres no ''threaten their life'' option so fining them is the next best thing especially for key players, especially after you've warned them. Worked for me anyway, Modric was on fire after I spanked him a bit ;-). Yea sorry Jimmy Bullards Hair meant to say it took about a month before it worked. Ps. Nice name ;-)

haha cheers :) ive had this problem a few times but most recently with Marko Maletic who is a wonderkid so really wanted him to get happier but he never did after bout 12 months i sold him. did u find tht bale plays better at left back left mid or LAM?

I play 442 mostly so I used him as LM and he won player of the year first season. Hes just a beast.

When playing with Spurs I get this with Van Der Vaart. Had it in the 2nd season, resolved the issue and now he's unhappy again. Apparently is "struggling to be motivated as he's lost confidence in my ability as a manager." Have just beaten Arsenal 3-1 away and United 5-0 at home! There's always some people like that :/

And FWIW, I spent 3 seasons with Bale as a LWB (wasn't playing any other wide players, so he did the job right the way down the wing) and he was good there. Now I have another formation where I use him at LAM, doing really well there. Played him there 3 games --> 3 goals. Then a 4 month injury :(

In my man united save rooney didnt score for the first month or so. After fining him a weeks wages, his performances turned around, now in jan he is top scorer in the league getting ratings of over 9 every game. So I must disagree with you there, it can help and usually does in most cases

Send them on loan. They'll talk to you again and you have a chace of building up a relationship with them again. That worked for me

I found a great way to keep tight wages. Essentially I am a supportive manager giving my players whatever they want and doling out discipline accordingly. When they ask for a new contract if they have more than a year left I reject and talk to them if they're unhappy. If they won't accept my answer about them having time left on the contract I confront them with the "professional" card. Usually the player backs down. If a player doesn't I sell him haha. This is why I have a team as good as Man U but only play 2.3M weekly wages.

I got baffled yesterday, was playing my Anderlecht save, got knock out the CL in group stages (still got EURO), a few players started nagging that they want to move to a bigger club, I turned all of their heads around except for Kouyate, he is now alienated.
He wanted to move out, I spoke with him and said "big part of plans" but that didn't cut it, when I replied "professional/disrespect me/club" after he said "do you want unhappy player messing everything up" he "refused to back down".
So, from favourite personnel to alienated/hates my guts in 3 clicks, I have a dilemma now, I want to keep him nonetheless, should I play him and hope things turn around or don't play him at all and see if he comes around? What would you guys advice?

The funny thing is, there were 2 clubs (Koln, Juventus) that want him, when I check his personal screen, it says he feels pressured by the interest :) WHY DONT YOU STAY THEN!! :)

You should just sell him. I think unhappiness from relegation lasts for like a season at least.

I think it depends just how out of line you were. Some players are just a-holes.

Sometimes, i think either it will be resolved with time or they will request a transfer.

If they dont want to move, usually they'll forgive you eventually.

I really wouldn't advise fining players for a poor performance unless they really deserve it.

We didn't get relegated, we grabbed 10points in Champions League group with Liverpool/Atletico Madrid but wasn't enough :(
I believe he has 1.5 years on his current contract, he was about to sign an improved 5year contract before he started nagging, he refused ofcourse, would hate to see him go, I think I will sell him if things don't turn around and contract expires within a year.
